When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay
ταῦτα εἰπὼν ἔπτυσεν χαμαὶ καὶ ἐποίησεν πηλὸν ἐκ τοῦ πτύσματος καὶ ἐπέχρισεν τὸν πηλὸν ἐπὶ τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς τοῦ τυφλοῦ
The word spittle is πτύσμα, which is a noun formed by suffixing -μα onto a verb. In Hebrew, this is done in reverse, מ־ is prefixed unto a verb, hence מרק.
מרקחה means φάρμακον 'drug, medicine, ointment', since this Greek noun terminates -ον in the nominative, it equates with מ־, since מרקחה diminishes into the verb, ארקח meaning φαρμακεύω 'administer a drug or medicine' and φαρμάσσω 'treat by using φάρμακα, heal or relieve by medicine'.
John 9:6 uses the verb, ἐπιχρίω, this is אמשח, the מ in this verb stands for ἐπι, which is why the true translation of משיח is ἐπίχριστος.

John 9:7 mentions 'pool of Siloam' (κολυμβήθραν τοῦ Σιλωάμ) meaning ברכת השלח (Nehemiah 3:15)

בריח 'heavy weight (βαρύς)
This the same pool in 2 Kings 20:20 made by Hezekiah, in which he made the תעלת (κατα κλαῖδας; locks on a canal). note that the verse, 2 Kings 20:19 appears in Isaiah 39:8 and the the same pool appears in Isaiah 8:6 and ἐπίχριστος/משיח is Isaiah 45:1, as an epithet of Cyrus.
Since ἐπίχριστος means 'smeared on' (with ointment, medicine), then it seems to imply that Cyrus was healed, therefore the epithet was posthumously given to Jesus, because he was healed, now in Isaiah 38:1, Hezekiah was sick unto death (חלה/ἀλύω) and healed by Isaiah.
Isaiah 38:21 'Isaiah said Let them take a lump of figs, and lay it for a plaster upon the boil, and he shall recover.
Isaiah 38:20 'Lord was ready to save me; יהוה להושיעני ונגנותי ננגן/Παιήων διασῷσαι με ἄσομαι ἐπαείδων; sing to one so as to charm or soothe him
The death of Hezekiah is not mention in Isaiah and his given wife, Hephzibah in 2 Kings 21:1 appears in Isaiah 62:4, it seems when Hezekiah was healed, he became משיח/ἐπίχριστος in Isaiah 45:1 'the one who was healed' (כורש) "Cyrus", this verse also reads החזקתי , the verb form of Hezekiah's name (ἔσχηκα), cf. ἐχέγγυος secured against danger.
