In the Septuagint and Bibles influenced thereby we have the order Psalms Proverbs Ecclesiastes Song of Solomon.
I suspect this goes back to an earlier sequence in the Hebrew Bible.
Is there any hard evidence for this ?

Hi Andrew,
The "hard evidence" that I've seen is the authorship signatures of those who edited those books - Josiah's people in 2 Kings 22 (DH - Deuteronomist History).
They used what is known as Athbash in the texts. Check out the great work of Preston Kavanaugh.
