Ezekiel 16:4

Post by Ethan »

LXX
thou didst not bind thy breast
οὐκ ἔδησαν τοὺς μαστούς σου

KJV
thy navel was not cut
לא-כרת שרך

Copyists and translators confuse ר and ד , "thy breast" would be שדך. The word translated navel is שר.

σῦριγξ שר, שרר (LSJ.)
anything like a pipe
hole in the nave of a wheel
pores or bronchial passages of the lungs
of other ducts or channels in the body
of the trachea
the liver-duct
cavity of the spine
passage through the elephant's trunk,

Thus very word containing ר and ד in Hebrew Scripture are subject to error.
