viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5424&start=80#p100797The physical cross witnessed on the earth hearkened back to a cosmic principle which began or was associated with the beginning of the universe
...the "cosmic principle" in question being the cosmic Cross on which the Christ was extended (=crucified") at the origin of the world. There are in the Passion narrative some references to the origin of the world just when Jesus dies.
The connection between Adam and Golgotha is already known to readers and is boring a repetition of the argument. Just as between:
At noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon.
and Genesis 1:2a:
Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep
But now I realize another connection, not raised before now:
The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.
The idea is that "something" abandoned the sancta sanctorum.
Compare this freed spirit with this spirit equally out of any possible limit:
and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
(Gen 1:2b)
According to Gnostics, that passage talked about the exile of the Spirit (Sophia et similia) in the world of the demiurge, once separated from the Pleroma. It is curious that the Judaizer behind "Mark" is now talking about the exile of the spirit of YHWH himself from the his previous temple.
Note the difference:
- the exile of Sophia was caused by the Fate and/or Demiurge.
- The exile of the spirit of YHWH was caused by YHWH himself.
