Re: Basic reason why the name of Pilate was absent in the Earliest Passion Story extrapolated from Mark
There is actually this “proto-Gospel” in Paul’s letters. I don't know if you insist in repeating this false claim because of ignorance or of indifference about the best mythicist paradigm that assumes demons as the original killers in Paul, and not Romans. Eh, it was just about Pilate and Barabbas....

Re: Basic reason why the name of Pilate was absent in the Earliest Passion Story extrapolated from Mark
even apart from Klinghardt, even under the Markan priority, I have to assume a proto-Gospel without the released Barabbas, and therefore without the releaser P i l a t e. In the place of the latter, an anonymous Roman "governor", traces of which are survived in Matthew (for example in Mat...

Re: Basic reason why the name of Pilate was absent in the Earliest Passion Story extrapolated from Mark
... but you pointed out in past somewhere here in the forum how the Markan text is bluntly broken by the Salome episode. "Bluntly broken"? I've never said anything like that about any pericope in GMark. in the sense that Mark 6:30 follows directly Mark 6:13, hence the reference to Herod c...

Re: Jesus' home in Capernaum?
And in Mark 3 we read: 31 Then His mother and His brothers arrived , and standing outside they sent word to Him and called Him. 32 A crowd was sitting around Him, and they said to Him, “Behold, Your mother and Your brothers are outside looking for You.” ... Mark 2 & 3 indicate that Jesus and hi...

Re: Basic reason why the name of Pilate was absent in the Earliest Passion Story extrapolated from Mark
The decision also has to do with the fact that the Barabbas story forms a parallel to the Salome story. This is old hat among some Markan scholars (John = Jesus, Herod = Pilate, Herodias = chief priests, Salome = Jewish people, Herod's oath - privilegium paschale, Birthday feast - Pascha feast, Jes...

Re: Basic reason why the name of Pilate was absent in the Earliest Passion Story extrapolated from Mark
I'm glad to here it! I like to know why i'm confused but it's not a feminist theory if you think that's what happened though and they all stole off her and didn't attribute, that happens. someone that opposes feminism isn't going to come up with a theory like that but it doesn't mean only someone t...

Re: Basic reason why the name of Pilate was absent in the Earliest Passion Story extrapolated from Mark
(Of course I have the feeling that the critical perspective of the 19th and 20th centuries is being abandoned here and we are falling back into the deepest "superstition") I don't understand this comment. I just meant that in case you give up Paul's priority. Good to hear you're not switc...

Re: Basic reason why the name of Pilate was absent in the Earliest Passion Story extrapolated from Mark
I still find that I can learn a lot from those who are fast and loose with the facts. It's actually a great privilege to be able to do so. You can never really, truly give someone your critical perspective. But you can take all of their good ideas. I completely agree with you and admit that you are...
