Equality is downsizing religions, as parents refuse to downsize their love for an LGBTQ+ or female child.
Equality is downsizing religions, as parents refuse to downsize their love for an LGBTQ+ or female child. Premise --- Parents want to love their LGBTQ+ kids without prejudice or negative discrimination. I see Christianity and all religiosity shrinking. Churches closing, etc, while new Temples and Mo...

Re: Was god choosing Jesus just; or should the Father have chosen the cross for himself?
Is Jesus the Christ? Yes, He is, because He existed before the creation of the world. According to John 1:1, Jesus (The Word) was present in the beginning, He was with God, and He was God! In John 17:5, Jesus prays to the Father, asking Him to honor Him in His presence with the same splendour that ...

Re: Do you think it odd that your God never acknowledges you? Is that rude?
No. For example, I am a Pentecostal follower. God has given us freedom, and the interpretation of the Bible is different for all believers. A genius I know says that there is no such thing as free will to a tribal animal like us. He is mostly right, even as we do have a small bit of free will. You ...

No. For example, I am a Pentecostal follower. God has given us freedom, and the interpretation of the Bible is different for all believers. Indeed. Moral people will condemn the genocidal Yahweh to the hell he belongs in. Christians tend to call evil good and that really screws up a persons morals....

Re: Are there hints of a Gnostic Jesus within the Canonical NT?
DL My thesis is the original Christians didn't believe in a substitutional punishment and someone else came up with that idea Why does salvation have to be taking something away (sin) and not giving something that wasn't previously had? The woman at the well episode in John is the earlier understan...

Re: Are there hints of a Gnostic Jesus within the Canonical NT?
The very idea that Jesus had his own teachings that leads to life goes against the Pauline idea of salvation through faith So these 'words of life' are curious and do have a gnostic or perhaps better to say 'mystical' quality Just having a body/matter duality as DL says probably isnt the best place...

Re: Are there hints of a Gnostic Jesus within the Canonical NT?
Do these quotes used by Gnostic Christians qualify for or to the O.P.? Modern Gnostic Christians name our god "I am", and yes, we do mean ourselves. You are your controller. I am mine. You represent and present whatever mind picture you have of your God or ideal human, and so do I. The nam...

Re: Are there hints of a Gnostic Jesus within the Canonical NT?
The NT is full of hints, as the saviour is a gnostic invention which has been Judaized as a messiah by Christianity, at the expense of redactorial fatigue. I guess that you were not aware of the following when saying Gnostic Christians invented a savior. I also guess that you were not aware of the ...
