Re: On the Neil Godfrey's criticism against Richard Carrier

A Bayes evaluation of a hypothesis does not require an alternate hypothesis for comparison.
A hypothesis from anyone stands or falls on the evidence presented, by anyone.

Re: On the Neil Godfrey's criticism against Richard Carrier

fwiw, an AI reply to the question "does bayes theorem for h require a ~h?" "Bayes' theorem does not require the hypothesis h to have a direct counterpart ∼h (not h). It can be applied to any hypothesis, but considering the complement can help in understanding the overall probability l...

Re: Does Revelation know really the Paul's letters?

There is more than one group mentioned in Rev 2:1-7.
You can pretend otherwise.
You can, and did, write falsely, above, that Paul did not mention Ephesus.
You can offer that Paul was invented, without any evidence that I have seen.
Why?

Re: Does Revelation know really the Paul's letters?

Giuseppe, have you read Rev. 2:1-7 lately?
You have quite mischaracterized it.

Re: Does Revelation know really the Paul's letters?

Re: A work by J.A.Bruins

a) Why start a thread on a "Not so interesting" publication? Maybe consider posting more selectively.

b) What "monograph on Marcion"? Do you mean his article, "De canon van Marcion" in Theologisch tijdschrift?
If so, that is online.

Re: Does Revelation know really the Paul's letters?

I do not think that the sentence above with "then it is sure" is at all sure. One can refer to a work of any date without giving full information. One can react to a person by personal acquaintance. To repeat a comment from Thu Nov 02, 2023 5:38 am: Apocalypse of John on Ephesus on "t...

Above, in part:
"[....] I prefer Greg Doudna's [DSS] story."

OK. What, in your view, is Greg Doudna's current story, the one you prefer?
