Re: γυμνὸς or γυμνοὶ in Clement's Letter to Theodore?

Dear SS, Thank you for your reply. The difference I see is that you confidently wrote: "...much of the works widely accepted as originally produced by Clemens of Alexandria are not originally his." But now you say that years by many scholars would be needed to determine whether that is tru...

By "click" do you mean "clique"?
As for proposed gospel sources, extra L for Luke and extra M for Matthew are sometimes taken as written sources.
Do you think Sabar was worried about hypothetical Q?

Re: Agamemnon Tselikas’ Handwriting Analysis Report Did Morton Smith Forge "Secret Mark"?

Q and the "Letter to Theodore" are not closely related subjects. Criticising an Englishman for having an English accent is bizarre. Without attempting an exhaustive list, people who think M. Smith got it wrong include, but are not limited to, some associated with: Harvard, Cambridge (UK), ...

Quentin Quesnell--not Duke connected. Nor Peter Jeffery, Nor David Flusser. Nor Grant Adamson. Nor Ariel Sabar. Nor Shaye Cohen, a Smith Ph.D. Columbia student, then at Brown, now at Harvard, and his literary executor, who introduced the collocation, "Secret Morton."

Re: Melchizedek 11Q13

I don't think that there is evidence of early Christianity in the DSS. 11Q13 has not been ignored; there is a huge bibliography, including Fred L. Horton, The Melchizedek Tradition... For updated bibliography, http://orion.huji.ac.il/ is helpful One item listed there, e.g., which I haven't yet read,...

Re: Gospel priority

David, here is one reason I am wary of some assumptions made here: "... SG, you and I have different political POVs re state of Israel...." by DCHindley Tue Feb 27, 2024 4:12 am in the thread "Should we rename...." I appreciate many of your posts as helpful, but, as far as I can ...
