Callistus dates back to Roman bishopric into the second century. He worked under Zephyrinus and I think even Victor.

I don't see this as the Refutation that was known to Photius either as we both know that Hippolytean text attributed the heresies to have developed from Dositheus.

I think Origen's argument is similar to that of Hippolytus in Refutation of All Heresies where heretics are accused of being over-influenced by Greek philosophy.
A work explicitly attributed to Origen in the MSS.

I think Christians thought that living members of the tradition were "Jesus" in some sense through a transmigration of his soul into them.
