Re: Turmel on Loisy (again)

Basically, Turmel and Loisy agree on a point: Paul was not a mystic, not a hallucinator.

Turmel on Loisy (again)

1. NOTE SUR LA NOUVELLE APPRECIATION DES EPITRES PAULINIENNES PAR M. LOISY On sait que les critiques indépendants admettent l'authenticité des principales épîtres pauliniennes (Romains, Corinthiens, Galates, Philippiens, Colossiens).

Re: The Revelation of the Mystery Hidden for Ages

Trying to find the “center” or “core” of Pauline thought is about as successful as the quest for the HJ. What I like about Turmel is surely the originality of the his thought about the historical Paul. The originality I am talking about is the following: it is clear that Turmel was a proponent of t...

Re: Turmel on why Irenaeus wrote that Jesus lived to 50 years old

Thomas Jefferson dies in 1826. In 1941, 115 years later, a life of Jefferson is published by a business man named Mark Eon. But Polly Karr, a contemporary of Mark Eon, comes along and says, "No, Satan. I knew the students of Thomas Jefferson. One of them did not die until the presidency of The...

Re: Dave Allen: an analysis

Hi Ken, I am going to read the Frans Dornseiff's article, Lukas der Schriftsteller. He raises an objection against your argument that Tacitus didn't read Josephus by quoting Octavius of Minucius Felix: Carefully read over their Scri...

Turmel on Loisy who reviewed Turmel

Turmel on why Irenaeus wrote that Jesus lived to 50 years old

Here Turmel mentions explicitly the deniers of the historicity of Jesus: very intriguing! CHAPITRE V IDENTITÉ DU LIBÉRATEUR-ROI (JÉSUS-CHRIST) On l'appelle Jésus-Christ.

Turmel: Jesus was a rebel

It is intriguing the fact that Turmel wrote the following words in a time when he was in full knowledge of the best mythicist case (see the mention of Couchoud's book in note 1): LE PROGRAME DE JÉSUS C'est à cette phalange qu'appartient Jésus.
