Re: Pierson on the two Pauls
Thanks for this translation! I have read Pierson's "De Bergrede en andere synoptische fragmenten" but the Latin isn't accessible to me. In "De Bergrede" Pierson does discuss the authenticity of Galatians for a bit, which influenced Loman. I will try to find some time to translate...

Re: My translation of van Manen's book Paulus volume 1 (chapter 1)
I thought Hansen's article gave a good overview of the Neo Dutch Radicals. Some of the criticism worked better than others. Verhoef is mentioned. While I really appreciated Verhoef's work on the Dutch radicals I myself was disappointed in how his work in showing Pauline authenticity didn't seem to e...

My translation of Loman's QUAESTIONES PAULINAE: Prolegomena (part I)
Quaestiones Paulinae was where Dutch radical criticism started in earnest. It was published in Theologisch Tijdschrift in 1882. A.D. Loman, unlike van Manen, isn't represented in English at all. Loman was not only skeptical about the authenticity of all the Pauline epistles, but also because he doub...

Thanks for that paper by Hansen especially, I hadn't seen that before!

My translation of van Manen's book Paulus volume 1 (chapter 1)
I'm very interested in the Dutch radical scholars. The notion that a group of Bible scholars in the late 1800s could go as far as to reject the authenticity of the Pauline epistles is fascinating to me. These were people extremely well versed with both the New Testament as well as Patristics, and ma...

I've dug up my translation of van Manen's Paulus volume 1 (introduction and chapter 1) polished it and put it online. Enjoy! https://flowers-grow.github.io/paulus_1.html

Re: Was Paul's Romans originally addressed to Romans?
A few years ago I started on translation of Van Manen's Paulus Volume 1, which is on Acts, but I have only translated the introduction and chapter 1 and part of chapter 2 so far.

Re: What does Van Manen think about the Aretas passage?
I've been translating a bit of Van Manen (Paulus volume 1) myself, but it's hard work and I haven't gotten very far before getting sidetracked into translating his colleague Loman, where I have a bit more. Unfortunately we are most likely to find what Van Manen thought about this passage in Paulus V...

Re: rgprice "1 Cor 15:5-10 is clearly an interpolation" --- I call BS
In Paul we read the ektroma represents his wicked past; in Ignatius it represents his johnny-come-lately status. How can we tell if both are drawing on a common saying? Or if someone with a knowledge of Ignatius added the passage to 2 Corinthians? I am trying to see this difference, but "Last ...

Re: rgprice "1 Cor 15:5-10 is clearly an interpolation" --- I call BS
It's interesting that Ignatius is trying to extend who is last beyond Paul to himself.
