Re: Current State of Samaritan Studies (Hexateuch)

Re: The Septuagint: a Roman / Christian fabrication to support the NT

Thank you for the information! Another question for you, how did they determine whether or not the fragments belong to the "Septuagint", other than the fact they were written in Greek - namely the Alexandrian dialect? It seems rather strange that the conclusion was made entirely based on t...

Re: The Septuagint: a Roman / Christian fabrication to support the NT

Forgive me if what I say will come across as ignorant or unfounded, but I was under the impression that we have found a few fragments of the Septuagint that have been dated to the first and second centuries before Christ. From a simple Google search, The oldest manuscripts of the Septuagint include ...

>I've dealt with users of many stripes. Their wisdom comes more form the subjective impressions of experiencing their process. There is little substance to their wisdom. To rationalists, this kind of impression might be useful, necessary. But a decently honest and intelligent abstract thinking would...

Re: Hypothetic first narrative about Christ the savior

Also, is Simon of Cyrene (the one who carried Jesus' cross) the same as Simon Magus? The Magus in 'Simon Magus' is a essentially a pejorative, a sneer. There's a lot of speculation about why Simon of Cyrene appears when he does and in the role he does. I've just wondered, having recited part of the...

Re: Hypothetic first narrative about Christ the savior

That is very interesting... I'm not very well versed in the New Testament so could you point me to the verses where it is said the woman in Tyre was wise? I can't seem to find it online.

Also, is Simon of Cyrene (the one who carried Jesus' cross) the same as Simon Magus?

Re: Shocking Discovery ...

the incense that reaches God from an unclean heart is unacceptable to Him. This was the exact situation we see in Jeremiah 6:20, when the children of Israel burnt cannabis unto God. God rejected their incense because it was coming from wrong hearts and was a choking stench in His nostrils. At that ...

Re: YHWH Tetramorph? Yam Hadad Vav/Crook(Osiris) Hamor/Donkey(Set)

Like I said, Yahweh's function as Ultimate god is directly derived from the archaic Canaanite and Northerin Israelite beliefs in the mountain (usually Mt. Hermon) god El/Ba'al, who is first and foremost a Solar Bull God, equivalent to all other Mediterranean storm father deities (Shemesh the Solar B...
