Re: Luke's sources

What I don't understand is, why do people like you come to forums like this one? There is no discussion, you never answer any questions that may be difficult, disregard the answers and just repeat your standard lines. Plus a hefty dose of insults. I guess it's some kind of hobby? I said early on th...

Re: Luke's sources

Mental, this has nothing to do with hating the Bible, as far as I'm concerned. It has to do with intellectual honesty and being able to accept reality. You live in a fantasy world that cannot be penetrated with logic. I've read Matthew and Luke as written and it is clear that the birth and resurrect...

Re: Luke's sources

Mentalflatliner, your reasoning is really IMO very messed up on these issues. I think this will be my last communication with you for that reason: Why do they have primacy Mentalflatliner? Does the Infancy Gospel of Thomas have primacy? If not,why not? A source is "primary" with regard to ...

Re: Luke's sources

Mental, I DID insert my own details as being LIKELY. This appears to be something you refuse to do -- ascertain probability of accuracy. As such you'll believe anything that is written if it suits you. Of course you can claim -- accurately that there are no contradictions in the gospels that can't ...

Re: Luke's sources

They weren't. You missed the fact that I pointed out that in Matthew they simply were at 'the house'. You identified Joseph and Marry as the owner of the house, not Matthew. You identified the structure as a personal residence, not Matthew. Where the text lacks detail, you don't have the authority ...

Re: Luke's sources

Mentalflatliner, did you read Matthew? Do I have to spoonfeed you? Matthew2: 9 After hearing the king, they went their way; and the star, which they had seen in the east, went on before them until it came and stood over the place where the Child was. 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedin...

Re: Luke's sources

Here's an example of how reading assumptions into the text leads to poor conclusions (taken from this web site): There are several discrepancies in the infancy narratives of Matthew and Luke. •Matthew implies that when Jesus was born his parents lived in Bethlehem and they left when King Herod bega...
