Re: Of Nazirites & Naṣoraeans.

to Hakeem, So there is no Nazarene in gMark and no prophecy about a Nazorean or a Nazarene in the books of the prophets. For your first sentence, you are absolutely right. gMark has no 'Nazorean', gMatthew has only 'Nazorean', gLuke has one 'Nazorean' and two 'Nazarene'. gJohn has four 'Nazorean' an...

Re: Of Nazirites & Naṣoraeans.

to Cora, I looked through your evidence (which is so important to you) and I got scared. I asked for gospels to be talked about, not for sentences. Entire gospels with a name. The NT gospels did not need to have a name in order to be quoted. And you asked also for "and quoted from before"....

Re: Of Nazirites & Naṣoraeans.

to hakeem,
Actually, according to the Greek, "Nazorean" is what shows in Mt 2:23, such as:
And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazorean.

Re: Of Nazirites & Naṣoraeans.

to Cora, My question is: what does nazoreans mean then ???? I am lost. I don't know myself. But I think that "Nazarene" might be an invention of "Mark" meaning: from Nazareth I don't remember what video it was, I don't take notes. In order to assert something, you need to have pr...

Re: did you know???

to Cora, About Octavius of Minucius Felix (160-250), chapter XXIX: "These, and such as these infamous things, we are not at liberty even to hear; it is even disgraceful with any more words to defend ourselves from such charges. For you pretend that those things are done by chaste and modest per...

Re: Carrier and "experts" who argue for two Jameses in Galatians

to rgprice, Especially given that the writer of Acts had knowledge of Galatians, not to mention that Paul met the brother of Jesus is a pretty big deal. You really think there is nothing unusual about the fact that the writer of Acts clearly read Galatians (evidenced in multiple places) and said not...

Re: Carrier and "experts" who argue for two Jameses in Galatians

to rgprice, As I go into in Deciphering the Gospels, the fact is that Acts of the Apostles does NOT reflect this prior trip nor the idea that there was any brother of Jesus named James. But that meeting is mentioned in Acts 9-26-30 with many embellishments (those suspected one by me are in italics)....

Re: Carrier and "experts" who argue for two Jameses in Galatians

About syntax concerning James in Galatians: In any language, in a book, letter, etc., after a new entity (such as James iakōbos) has been identified (such as James, the Lord's brother: 1:19) among others of the same (common) name (such as James, the son of Zededee, still alive then), the next time t...

Re: Of Nazirites & Naṣoraeans.

to Cora, Nazoreans (root: Ναζ ω ραῖος nazōraios) cannot be derived from Nazar, Nazara or Nazareth because of the "o" ('ω') is replacing the "a" ('α') as in 'Ναζ α ρὲτ' (Nazareth). Bart Ehrman: Bart Ehrman is not god But you are, or just illuminated? To this end he INVENTS things ...
