Re: Which surviving Christian documents are oldest, according to those who date Paul's writings to the 2nd century CE?

No, Revelation is nowhere near a work of the first century; therefore, already Gustaaf Adolf van den Bergh van Eysinga realized that its content is symbolic as opposed to historical.

Re: Alfaric on how Simon Magus entered in the first gospel

The Pauline writings are much later than they pretend to be, definitely not before the destruction of the temple. There is just a lot of patristic legend about the activity of apostles in order to enforce a traditional picture of the origins of Roman Catholic doctrine as one going back to some gener...

Re: Alfaric on how Simon Magus entered in the first gospel

Paul is not one side but late fabrication using multiple sides. Peter and James are also late dogmatic fiction with no historical value whatsoever. First century christians are equally a hallucination of naive followers of patristic forgery, as is the dependence of Lk, Mt, and Jn on Mk. Therefore, S...

Re: Alfaric on how Simon Magus entered in the first gospel

Essenian origin is absurd, as Essenism boasts with excessive pro-nomianism; whereas the Christian koinwnia derives from anti-nomianist deprecation of creator and creation. Re: A short summary on John the Baptist...

Marcion's is not the first story featuring John B, pre-synoptic gospels with euhemerization had preceded him . The priority of John is not an embarrassing problem for Judaizers, who need the messiah annointed by Eliyah according to Scripture; and it is equally not embarassing for those who understo...

Re: The Celestial Messiah in the parables of Enoch

The idea that the Parables of Enoch were an influence on the New Testament is not new. One problem is that unlike the other portions of 1 Enoch the Parables are not found at Qumran. This may imply a late 1st century CE date which (depending on the dates of the New Testament documents) would limit i...

Re: Histoire et mythe à propos de Jésus-Christ by Alfred Loisy

So what? Detering was a Christian, too; yet he had no qualms stating the inauthenticity of the epistles and the inaccuracy of the gospel narrative as a whole.

Re: Acts based on Parallel Lives of Plutarch

Plutarch had a great influence n the gospels, as G.A. van den Bergh van Eysinga demonstrated in VERKLARING VAN HET EVANGELIE NAAR MATTHAEUS. This is especially the case for the antithesis of the hill sermon involving love of enemies.

Re: Marcion versus Mark about who recognizes Jesus the first time

The demons falsely recognize Jesus as the messiah of YHWH, not as Son of The Father.
