Conjecture: Early Christian Ebionaens were Concientious Objectors

From an Early Christian Forum Why Bar Kochba persecuted Christians? : it seems to be hard history that bar Kochba persecuted Jewish Christians. That is an interpretation of one phrase in the fragments of one of Bar Kokhba's actual letters, bolstered by general statements preserved in Justin Martyr's...

Re: Gospels, Epistles, Old Testament: the order of books according to Jesus Chri st

The name Jesus Christ appears nowhere in the Gospels, nor in the Epistles . The very first and oldest, original Greek texts contain only ΙΣ ΧΣ, some form of shorthand - and nowhere is explained what it means. When it is assumed to be an abbreviation, there is more than merely one possibility; and w...

Re: Everybody knew what the nomina sacra were

All hearers of the texts would obviously also know without doubt what the names were because they heard it as spoken. There were no codes and no mystery. ... Re: What would a Christian NT canon look like if it were created today?

Our coherent answer, with some of your list, in the Early Christian Ebionaen Canon . Our answer is a little more rigourous in having criteria for inclusion. Re: What would a Christian NT canon look like if it were created today?

Patterson Brown also makes clear the signs that these 2 Coptic texts were translated from a Semetic language, presumably Aramaic . Of course, I'm not suggesting that all Christian works would make it into the canon - I'm just trying to ascertain which works might have been considered trustworthy en...

Re: HAramaic: the Hebrew and Aramaic roots in the New Testament

i sure would prefer to speculate on this bit of John when it looks suspect for a start the blind man already is a believer thats why they booted him out it looks like the redactor is just making this a chance to have him 'recognise' and worship Jesus (only when he see's him, resurrection hint) so a...

RConjecture: observing Passover on the 14th of Nisan

As the Early Ebionaen Christians were close to their Hebrew roots, we conjecture that they observed Passover on the 14th of Nisan; Quartodecimains.
