Re: HAramaic: the Hebrew and Aramaic roots in the New Testament
George Howard also wrote of a connection between the Shem Tob and Codex Sinaiticus. If the textual connection is true, it makes more sense in the 1800s production of Sinaiticus than the 4th century.from an ancestor manuscript. Benedict clearly had the Hebrew skills, but he would need access to a She...

Re: Revised Early Christian Ebionaen Canon
The problem this poses is that the Church of the East (ACOE) canon, which curated the PeshittA, does not include what they call the Western 5 books: Revelations, Jude, 3John, 2John and 2Peter. It's not that they decided against them: it was more the books didn't make the cutoff, as the canon closed...

As an FYI, we had this conversation earlier about the Pericope Adulterae. Eastern text proponents had claimed it was in the western text, a good way to tell them apart. Re: Meaning of Nazareth?
When, Steven Avery ____, is the earliest record that Nazareth was a presumed misunderstanding for Nitai? The evidence for Nitai is at core New Testament, plus some archaeology, not etymology. Still, it was a good question, so we had a little discussion about this naming question, which I placed her...

When is the earliest record that the hills of present day Nazareth had that name?StephenGoranson wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2023 4:58 am.
Nitai shares one letter, n, nun, with Nazareth. Not much.
The question is, which locale fits the New Testament narrative?

For the more likely location of the Bible Nazareth, Har Nitai, we have some discussion here:

Thanks, Andrew. We are checking some of the “facts on the ground”, so no counterpoint or additional thoughts yet. It turns out that the correction was not easily seen, and is largely based on an erasure. Dirk Jongkind says it is easier to see on the manuscript than in the pictures. So we have alrea...
