You have too many categories.
You can divide everyone into just two categories.
Those who divide others into categories and those who don't.

When did Rosh Hashanah really begin?
Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year. I think 2014 is year 5775. However, Rosh Hashanah (today's Jewish New Year) is not mentioned in the Old Testament. Apparently the tradition started after the destruction of the temple in 70 A.D. If so, which Jewish sect started the new tradition; Sadducee, Phari...

Re: Gnostic Christian Mystery School Secret Truth #1.
The problem is a simple misunderstanding of 'election'.
Sons of God are the 'elect' of God.
This is explained very clearly in the Dead Sea Scrolls 1QS, The Community Rule.
Mankind was made in the image of God with the spark of God.
We were made different from the animals but we are not Gods.

That will do Huller.
I have learned long ago the debate is over and won when your opponent resorts to invincible ignorance and ad hominem attacks.
I return you back to your gnostic friends.
Best wishes,
John T

Re: Matthew 27:25: a self-blaming lynch mob?
The anointed one is Jesus Christ who upon resurrection became a heavenly human being, also known as the first fruits of those who have died. 1 Corinthians 15:20-23. It would be great if you could keep from betraying your irrational theological biases. The Jewish authorities would never have identif...

Re: Matthew 27:25: a self-blaming lynch mob?
Show me actual evidence - not Christian scholarly speculation - that the anointed here is a divine being. Otherwise don't clog up the discussion with your personal wants and desires (like the rest of the people here). I'm sorry to see that you don't accept the Old Testament, New Testament and the D...

Huller wrote: "So it would be your [John T] argument that there was a group that the 'messenger' of Isa 52:7 who is here also the anointed of Daniel 9:25 is a heavenly being?" Close but no cigar. The problem we have here is one of conflating, or melding of words like, messenger/prophet int...

Re: Matthew 27:25: a self-blaming lynch mob?
The word 'messiah' in Hebrew is ' mashiyac h' and means ‘anointed’. The title messiah/anointed could apply to anyone assigned by God to do his work. For example, Isa. 45:1 refers to Cyrus the gentile as God’s anointed. However, for the Essenes they anticipated two different anointed ones (some schol...

Re: Matthew 27:25: a self-blaming lynch mob?
Perhaps it was a self-serving lynch mob trying to avoid massive bloodshed among the people? According to Josephus; Pontius Pilate had no problem slaughtering Jews if he thought it would prevent a riot, e.g. Antiquities of the Jews 18.3.2. Also, the chief priests had plenty of reasons to believe that...
