Re: The Historicity of "Post Resurrection" Jesus

Whether anyone did see visions I cannot prove, but the texts present the matter as though the writer thinks he and they did see Jesus Again, when I was above inquired of by GakuseiDon; I'd be interested in your best guess to what Paul is trying to tell us in these passages above: 1 Cor 9 and 1 Cor ...

Re: The Historicity of "Post Resurrection" Jesus

I find it interesting that Paul nowhere claims to have seen any 'figure' of the resurrected Jesus. His own Epistles are strangely silent on the matter, the closest thing being the vague rambling of 2 Co 12:2-4. What about 1 Cor 9.1? "Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus ou...

Re: The Historicity of "Post Resurrection" Jesus

It does not follow that the content of Paul's visions, on either the D-C or the HJ hypothesis, contained information about the existence outside of the vision of the figure seen in the vision. I find it interesting that Paul nowhere claims to have seen any 'figure' of the resurrected Jesus. His own...

Re: The Historicity of "Post Resurrection" Jesus

The manipulating Pastors preached, the manipulating Pastors dueled with their pens, the manipulating Pastors wrote; "And......"
One wonders why men think they ought believe the lying fabrications penned by these unknown Pastors?

Re: The Historicity of "Post Resurrection" Jesus

A coalition of Tanaka texts, wisdom sayings, pagan Greek theology and philosophy assembled by the 'pastors' as a literary tool for effecting social reform. Not factual history, but pastorally crafted religious drama and propaganda . There was no Resurrection (except in a spiritual sense; Hope was re...

Re: The Historicity of "Post Resurrection" Jesus

What is the historicity of "post resurrection" Jesus? The same as the 'historicity' of the "pre-resurrection" Jesus. True, for some people. There are some who think that both Historical Jesus and the Post Resurrection Jesus are historical and others who think that both are eithe...

Re: The Historicity of "Post Resurrection" Jesus

No matter where it goes, 'The Gospel of Christ' is always adapted and presented by its 'pastors' in whatever fashion or form will most effectively 'Push the buttons' of the audience. Nothing like looking around for hard feelings or common complaints and then 'cherry picking' a verse or two, or a few...

Re: Memory theory and HJ (re)construction

All of it a 'pastoral' reassembling and presentation of a theological prographō, the 'fore-written' (Scripture texts) as interpreted by 'pastors' and publicly 'portrayed' in a series of dramatic sermons.
