Re: evidence of an earthly human Jesus in the Pauline epistl

But there's nothing else in Josephus that's really apologetic No Josephus is reactionary. It's just that we no longer remember the contemporary obsession with identifying the destruction of the Jewish temple with Daniel 9:24 - 27. Josephus is nothing more than a clandestine Caucasian plot to underm...

Re: evidence of an earthly human Jesus in the Pauline epistl

Haven't you talked yourself into your own dilemma? But I don't have an agenda. I try to see things from every point of view in order to get at the truth. If the passage is corrupt someone had to have added this material to the Marcionite text. It was definitively not written by Paul. So it becomes ...

Re: evidence of an earthly human Jesus in the Pauline epistl

No it's not there. But two things are suspicious about that reference right off the bat. 1. All the coins have Greek not Latin text. 2. That scholarly account of the history of Damascus I cited above does not mention it. In fact that author - who would presumably know all the sources - assumes conti...

Re: evidence of an earthly human Jesus in the Pauline epistl

I happen to have the Roman Provincial Coinage edition made by the guy who is head of the British Library. I forget his name. I will check if the coin is listed.

Re: evidence of an earthly human Jesus in the Pauline epistl

I know. These modern apologists think it is there job to defend 'the Bible' as if that's one and the same thing with God, the truth and whatever else. The New Testament is a corrupted expanded version of the original Marcionite edition. This has nothing to do with God or even Christianity but rather...

Re: evidence of an earthly human Jesus in the Pauline epistl

My interest is why the editor of the New Testament decided to go with the Aretas story. I think Josephus was edited to support a number of ludicrous stories in the New Testament. I just can't figure out why. If you are going to make up shit about Paul why not make up shit within the confines of acce...

Re: evidence of an earthly human Jesus in the Pauline epistl

But they do this all the time. Ted isn't alone in this. Because scholars are such wimps - even historians - they have 'the real evidence' over here on the right hand and this other stupid story on the left and they some how feel compelled to accommodate the stupid story because its 'the Bible.'

You're such a show-off, Genghiz. You've been drinking too much cacao meravigliao.
You know what they say in Rio, it is so unprofessional even the prostitutes fall in love with their clients. I miss that place.

Re: evidence of an earthly human Jesus in the Pauline epistl

We know for sure that an Aretas held control of Damascus briefly just before the Romans arrived in 64 BCE.
64 BCE não 64 CE

64 BCE menos 64 CE é uma diferença de 120 anos. Se Paul desceu do muro em 40 CE é uma diferença de cem anos
