Re: Possible the original Pauline letters never mentioned Jesus?
Yes, it is possible, and it makes sense. And particularly more so before such as culling and plagiarizing and redaction... But unfortunately we only have the extant material which remains.

Re: If Mark knows Paul but Paul knows nothing of Jesus' life...
@lsayre There is extensive evidence of literary dependency of Mark on Paul. I know and respect that this is your position, a well as the position of many others (often with an apologetic motive to unify and consolidate the early history of the faith), but sorry, I'm not buying it. There is likely n...

Re: If Mark knows Paul but Paul knows nothing of Jesus' life...
If Mark heard things that were adrift, and Paul heard things that were adrift, then neither need to have been aware of the other. Even if some of what was adrift was originated by one or the other of these.

Re: The relationship between Genesis and apocryphal accounts...
Yahweh may not have had any part in initiating the creation outlined in Genesis. In Psalm 82 El declares (assigns) Yahweh to be the God over the people of Israel (after sentencing others among the Sons of God who seem to previously have held assignments such as this to death). That seems to imply th...

Re: On the midrashical source behind “what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth?"
CW, what was the "kingdom of heaven" that the Pharisees were being accused of shutting down access to? In my opinion this would represent the Priests of the non-GI class being denied ritual Temple participation. The Priests with greater piety and purity (Righteousness). Temple = Kingdom of...

Re: On the midrashical source behind “what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth?"
It seems quite logical for the Establishment(s) Priesthood to confront a rebel (brigand) with:
“What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us?"
With this abject fear of destruction being their motivation to rid themselves of him.

Re: The impure spirit was directed "against the house", not against Jesus
Is it accurate (as in: credible) to say that the (so to speak) "Government Issue" Priests (High Priest included) lacked 'authority' (respect) among the masses, who maintained a Priest class of their own behind the backs of the Government? Robert Eisenman seems to imply that James was of th...

Re: Jesus was Imaginary: My Prefential Terminology in Place of 'Mythicism'
Even if Jesus was born of a woman, there is absolutely no way by which he was born fully human if his father was a/the/some... God.
