Re: Who is My mother and my brethren?
Richard replied about a question on Mcn priority. All too complicated. But I suspect this would cast into doubt historicity even more, or at least as much, because then you have a very late date for the first Gospel, from a far more obvious Joseph-Smith-style fabricator. http://freethoughtblogs.com/...

Re: Gal 1:19 interpolation
@Bernard >> Paul mentioned the Church of Jerusalem and members several times ( 1 Cor 16:1,3; 2 Cor 8:4, 13-15; 9:1, 12-15; Ga l2:1-10; Ro 15:25-26, 31 ) and acknowledged them as "saints" (1 Cor 16:1; 2 Cor 8:4; 9:1, 12; Ro 15:25, 26, 31). But despite these many opportunities in his epistle...

Re: Gal 1:19 interpolation
In my reading of Carrier's thesis on this, I believe he is saying that the James in Gal. 1:19 is not the same James as the head of the Jerusalem church, but I could be mistaken about that. Carrier concedes that possibility when he says that in that case the James of 1:19 is ''son of Zebedee'' there...

Re: Gal 1:19 interpolation
but a prince among men is, in fact, a man but not a historical man, even if he had only the appearance of one ( via Philippians 2:6-11). @Bernard Despite many opportunities in his epistles , Paul never said those were "in the Lord", or "in Christ", or just "brothers". ...

Re: Gal 1:19 interpolation
judge for yourself: http://s23.postimg.org/kjhdoqf0b/fratello2.png http://s18.postimg.org/ljuxkqcqx/fratello3.png Not one time in all of Paul's letters does he ever say or even imply that this phrase means only biological brothers. (Richard Carrier, On the Historicity of Jesus , p. 585) What I am sa...

Re: Gal 1:19 interpolation
thank you for the clarity of your comments, suggestions and depth of the linked topics. But you forgot the biggest problem, and the most tormenting, in my eyes: if Paul believed in the God of the Jews, why his best preserver and ensign - that is Marcion - was an enemy of the god Creator? This is som...

Re: Gal 1:19 interpolation
Note that the pattern is repeated with the all too obvious anti-marcionite interpolation of Galatians 4: 4 born of woman, born under the law If the Catholic forger in this case wanted to react against Marcion and the marcionites - because it is a FACT that that's what he was doing writing those word...

Gal 1:19 interpolation
Assuming the priority of Marcion's Evangelion , it becomes more probable that Gal 1:19 is a late interpolation. Richard Carrier is right when he says that, alone, ''brother of the Lord'' is not evidence of James being physical brother of Jesus because there is no way to overcome the ambiguity of the...

Re: Who was the governor most cruel?
I read: When you take the whole of Josephus‘ work, and look at history portraying him as a leader in The Jewish Revolt, one cannot help but speculate that his chief aim is to paint Rome negatively in order to facilitate a large-scale rebellion source: https://www.academia.edu/9051617/Pilate_Weak_and...

Who was the governor most cruel?
A question to the experts in the forum.
Who was the Roman governor most ruthless and bloodthirsty of the first two centuries CE, in Judea?
Pilate?
There was no more tyrannical than him?
it is certain?
Very thanks.
