Re: does jesus' family think that he is mental?
I'm hoping this is a setup for arguing that verse 31 is an interpolation. We know from Ireneaus that this verse was lacking in "heretical" copies of Mark. They contained 3:32 without 3:31.

Re: does jesus' family think that he is mental?
Nothing here is shocking. A KJVO would already know it all just from reading the KJV:
"And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself."
The word family is not really there. These people think he's beside himself.
Ok. Now what?

Re: Acts not written in 41 CE
There is substantial evidence to indicate that the author of The Gospel of Luke also wrote the Book of Acts. This is what people with zero evidence like to claim. Furthermore, there are linguistic and theological similarities between the Luke and Acts . As one scholar writes,"the extensive lin...

Re: Acts not written in 41 CE
Why do the ascension stories between Luke and Acts not line up if they're really by the same guy? Not "a guy" A community is the proper usage. They probably came from the same community. That might be a reasonable point in some other context but as a reply to what I said its just plain as...

Re: Acts not written in 41 CE
Thanks. My fingerfehler. Luke 41 AD, when Theophilus was the "most excellent" high priest. Acts after 60, Theophilus is simply ... Theophilus. The openings addressing Theophilus are obvious interpolation to trick us into thinking the two books were written by the same guy. Anyone can tack...

Re: we saw the Bible textual ignorance of spin in the FRDB
Spin does not really know Bible textual theories and evidences. Thus he is all posture and insult, to avoid substantive discussion. We found that out on the FRDB thread. So I would have to be teaching him while "debating." The url should be easy to find. Steven Westcott-Hort and King Jame...

Re: Dating of Hebrews after the 70 CE?
A similar problem is faced in Gal 4:25 : Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children Could Jerusalem be in slavery under Herod? Or only under Rome? I always thought it meant in slavery to the Torah.

Re: Dating of Hebrews after the 70 CE?
If he's making sacrifices in a tabernacle (tent) then its because the temple is not standing. Did the priests after the first war put a tent on the ruins of the temple? The banning of Jews from Jerusalem didn't happen till after the 2nd war....so may be. In addition to that possibility: The author ...
