Re: Where is the more strong evidence in Paul pointing to an outer space Jesus
But I am not the only to interpret ''As it is written'' as the Paul's intention of quoting a scripture. If you see here, for example, the words quoted by Paul in verse 9 are put in a different font: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Corinthians+2%3A6-9&version=NASB That's pretty mu...

Re: Where is the more strong evidence in Paul pointing to an outer space Jesus
Therefore really the verse 9: but just as it is written, “Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, And which have not entered the heart of man, All that God has prepared for those who love Him.” is further evidence that the only entities who saw the death of Jesus were just the entities...

Re: Where is the more strong evidence in Paul pointing to an outer space Jesus
For me the verse 9 is simply quoting from a lost scripture (the original Ascension of Isaiah ?) the fact that there wasn't a human witness of the Crucifixion: his being happened was revealed by the Risen Christ only to who he loves (the apostles as Paul and the Pillars before him). Citing a suppose...

Re: Where is the more strong evidence in Paul pointing to an outer space Jesus
Since I have started the thread, I remember which is my point : that the more strong evidence of an outer space Jesus (in Paul) is found in 1 Cor 2:6-8, ...IF you accept that the archons are demons (and that they kill directly Jesus without human intermediaries). Substantially because I can't conce...

Re: Where is the more strong evidence in Paul pointing to an outer space Jesus
I know it clearly states that the Jews killed him. But mainstream critical scholarship also demonstrates that that passage has a questionable authenticity. I know all the proof texts. But I try to approach the question using the methods that are normative for historians of ancient and modern histor...

Re: Where is the more strong evidence in Paul pointing to an outer space Jesus
I read that W. B. Smith believed that a Jewish sect had worshipped a divine being Jesus in the centuries before. I am not aware of any good case for this. I have quoted this old Mythicist (who placed Jesus'death in outer space too) only where his Argument from General Tenor of the epistles seems ve...

Re: Where is the more strong evidence in Paul pointing to an outer space Jesus
My main reason for having trouble with an exclusively non-earthly 'Jesus' is the collective number of different descriptions added together which appear to contradict it. Man. Killed by Jews. Hung on a tree. Died. Buried. Rose from the dead. Born of a woman. Born a Jew. Ate bread. Etc. Imo, challen...

Re: Where is the more strong evidence in Paul pointing to an outer space Jesus
It would appear from the elaboration in the next verse (9) that the problem with the wisdom was stuff not entering the eyes, ears and hearts of men (other than the audience in this case). I agree. But the point of contention is the source or at least the typical domain of such wisdom. Paul says tha...
