Re: On the prayer of Jesus alone as a way to separate him from the community

I can read and understand what Robert M. Price is saying, but I honestly have no idea what your point is, nor how it connects with what Price is saying. you have pointed out the fact that only John 11, in the passages quoted by me above, is the only exception where a Gospel Jesus isn 't praying alo...

Yeah. Forgive me, but the idea that some Christians hated the creator god has always intrigued and persuaded me as one of the most true and authentic voices of that literature.

Re: On the prayer of Jesus alone as a way to separate him from the community

Well, not always . Your list even included an instance from John 11 in which he is deliberately praying surrounded by people. Also, blessing the bread is a form of prayer. But he does have a habit in the gospels of going off by himself to pray. It's not a coincidence that the Gospel of John, one of...

On the prayer of Jesus alone as a way to separate him from the community

In the epistles, when the 500 Brothers pray to Jesus, he appeared to them. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time , most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. When Jesus prayes in the Gospels, he is always alone to pray: Luk...

40 days after the death is a life, not an apparition

If Christ was with the 12 for 40 days after the death, then this interval is not more to be considered an 'apparition' than it can be considered an entire 'life on the earth'. So if the evidence of resurrection is only the apparitions listed in 1 Cor 15:5 et seq. , then why even after the death, and...

Re: Suspicions about the centurion...

If I understand well your point (and Pearson's), Basilides thaught that Jesus suffered and Christ remained impassible (banal separationism), while others thaught a 'switch-ionism' between Jesus and a guy named Simon. Is this the point, right?

Re: Suspicions about the centurion...

Note also a strange irony: the centurion is an (allegory of an) archon. And it is said that the Gnostic Christ laughed about the archons who crucified another person different from Christ. So there is the suspicion that there is at work also a reversal of the roles: the not-crucified Christ laughs a...

Suspicions about the centurion...

Wherefore he did not himself suffer death, but Simon, a certain man of Cyrene, being compelled, bore the cross in his stead; so that this latter being transfigured by him, that he might be thought to be Jesus, was crucified, through ignorance and error, while Jesus himself received the form of Simo...

Re: Paul is the man in John 3:13

I disagree strongly, as usual with a modern judaizer of Marcion (feature by you shared with Secret Alias). '' No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man'' means that Elijah and Moses are not ascended into heaven, before Jesus. Only Paul ascended to heaven. Af...

Re: “Abba, Father” as two distinct deities, not one

What is this evidence? Well clearly, for instance, Irenaeus reports that an unnamed group read the gospel of Mark as if Christ escaped and Jesus was crucified. How can that square with the Son of God escaping crucifixion and someone named Jesus dying on the Cross. Clearly all the evidence available...
