Re: Meaning of Nazareth?
Nazarene means keeper of the mystery in Aramaic, entirely inline with the demoniac's statement of 'knowing who he is' and in-line with Jesus other statements

Re: Common themes found in the New Testament texts and other Greco-Roman and ancient Near Eastern stories
this is all very interesting especially the classic quotes in corinthians and acts
but.... too much information!
there needs to be a concordance to easily look up which passages have classic parallels otherwise it's impossible to get a clear picture

Re: Basic reason why the name of Pilate was absent in the Earliest Passion Story extrapolated from Mark
I'm glad to here it! I like to know why i'm confused but it's not a feminist theory if you think that's what happened though and they all stole off her and didn't attribute, that happens. someone that opposes feminism isn't going to come up with a theory like that but it doesn't mean only someone t...

Re: Basic reason why the name of Pilate was absent in the Earliest Passion Story extrapolated from Mark
Everything's fine, Martin. That was also meant to be a little ironic. Nevertheless, there are currently many who are developing theories according to which the original is exactly what they particularly like. And I'll stick with it that it would be exactly the same, if I were to develop some femini...

Re: A "Messianic" Use of Chrestos in Against Celsus
i do assume that a tiny sprinkle of verses in the epistles were added, acknowledging David yes
i don't count Romans 9:4-5 as being Davidic though
you found one in Romans 1:3 and there's one more somewhere between Romans and Jude

Re: A "Messianic" Use of Chrestos in Against Celsus
Anyone can see David is not in the epistles or pastorals It as actually possible to simplifiy this - The gospels and Acts are Davidic and the rest isn't, bar Revelation of course Anyone can see the Jesus of the gospels has a long shot of being the Messiah if he is really masterful at it. It's at lea...

there seem slightly more Chrestos references than Christos
