Hebrews To Negroes: Wake Up Black America - Book Review - "Jewish Slave Trade"

Post by JoeWallack »

This Thread will be a book review of Ronald Dulton Jr's Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America but only his assertion/conclusion that "The Jews" were significantly involved in the Slave Trade.

Dullton's "argument" can be cotton-picked in Chapter 4, "When Did Racism Towards Blacks Start?". On to the "scare quotes":
Moving forward, the slave trade, ran by many nations of people, Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch, British, Arabs, Indians and Jews

Let's start out by looking at the big picture:

Atlantic slave trade

Note that the only religious group Dultone mentions are "The Jews". The Atlantic Slave Trade was generally 16th to 19th century. In total relative population terms "The Jews" were exponentially smaller than Dulmbton's fellow Christians and Muslims. But how did Jewish relative quantity compare to Atlantic Slave Trade quantity? Generally Europeans at this time limited their slave activity to the African Coast. The majority of slaves were captured in West and Central Africa so the majority of Atlantic Slave Trade capture was done by ...Black Africans. A category that Dillton does not identify. Since most of the capture was done by Black Africans then most of the wholesale selling was done by Black Africans. On the buying side "The Jews" were also a tiny minority in gross population in Europe and Americas. So it's starting look like Dulton is just another antisemitic piece of shit. But let's see if "The Jews" had a significant role in any individual component of the Atlantic Slave Trade:

God damnit!

Lancados - Wikipedia Excerpt

Post by JoeWallack »

Lançados
The lançados (literally, the thrown out ones[1] or the cast out ones) were settlers and adventurers of Portuguese origin in Senegambia, Cabo Verde, Guinea, Sierra Leone, and other areas on the coast of West Africa. Many were Jews—often New Christians—escaping persecution from the Portuguese Inquisition. Lançados often took African wives from local ruling families, securing protection and advantageous trading ties. They established clandestine trading networks in weaponry, spices, and slaves. This black market angered the Portuguese Crown by disrupting its ability to collect taxes.

Although never large in numbers, mixed-race children born to the lançados and their African wives and concubines served as crucial intermediaries between Europeans and native Africans. These mixed-race people wielded significant power in the early development of port economies in Bissau, Cacheu, and surrounding areas.[2]

The lançados originated the Portuguese-based creole languages and cultures of Cabo Verde and Guinea-Bissau, and indirectly influenced the Papiamento language.

Lançados
The number of lançados grew quickly during the first half of the 16th century in response to the persecution of Jews by Portuguese kings Manuel I and João III. The lançados supported and acted as intermediaries for increasing French, English, and Dutch trading along the West African coast from Cabo Verde to Elmina. In order to combat this trade, the Kingdom of Portugal established fortified trading posts called feitorias at strategic points along the Gulf of Guinea coast.[4]

During the Iberian Union—from the late 16th to early 17th centuries—lançados started trading with the Susu and Mandé peoples, who lived relatively far inland.[4] Throughout the 17th and 18th centuries, lançados and their descendants controlled local commerce in the inland regions of Guinea.[3]

As the quantity of white Portuguese migrants declined from the 17th century onward, lançado descendants with mixed European and African blood began to outnumber Europeans. Towards the end of the 17th century these mulattos or mestiços became a sociocultural elite in the wider Afro-Portuguese community, as they outnumbered both white and black people.[3] During this time they also controlled trade with the Biafada people and the Port Loko region.[3]

The lançados declined in importance starting in the 18th century, when the Portuguese monarchy assumed direct colonial control of coastal areas and began negotiating with indigenous rulers.

Lancado Significance in Atlantic Slave Trade

Post by JoeWallack »

JW:
Let's look at the setting of the Lançados:

The Atlantic slave trade was dominated by Portugal at the start
with significant numbers starting in the 16th century. "The Jews" were expelled from Portugal around 1500. Books and articles
generally state that the Lancados were relatively significant as to quantity and quality of the early Atlantic Slave Trade in the 1500s.
Extant journals, letters and government records provide evidence for only a small fraction of the overall volume of slave trading by
relative groups but for the 1500s they project to a significant participation by Lancados (quantity). The brokering service by the
Lancados also had qualitative importance as it speeded up the Atlantic Slave Trade by introducing African sellers to European buyers.
The majority of the Lancados though appear to be "New Christians", forced Jewish converts, or otherwise known as "Christians".
Ironically for Dalton, a fellow Christian, we will eventually see that the only significant participation by "The Jews" based on any definition
of "The Jews" (except for Dalton's own claim that African Blacks are "The Jews") are the Lancados. Thus, "The Jews" never had any
significant participation in The Atlantic Slave Trade until they were forced to be Christians (picture of the Black suckers who
purchased Dalton's related video for $ 49.99 shaking their heads and saying "Ain't that a motherfucker".)
