Bart Ehrman's book [How Jesus Became God] pages 290-291 has a brief but insightful description of the Ebionites.I also read Robert Heidler's book [Messianic Church Arising!] in which he describes the number of Jewish Christians (Ebionites) were into the thousands and that by the end of the 3 rd century one-half of the Roman Empire was Christian. Another helpful read is Joseph Green's [The Power of the Original Church].
