What physical evidence is there to disputing the idea that the Greeks stole books from the "barbarous" people around them and invented the pre-Socratic philosophers, Philo and Aristotle developing them because they were embarrassed at how ignorant they were as compared with their subject people.

FWIW the Sassanids seem to have claimed that Hellenistic culture was stolen by Alexander from Iran/Persia.
