Why Pilate? Because of the portrayal of Goliath

A diffuse feature in the description of Goliath and his relatives is the possession of a long lance:

Homo Pilatus means "Javelin-man". A coincidence?
If Jesus is the new David, then who will be the new Goliath?
A champion named Goliath, who was from Gath, came out of the Philistine camp.
