36. There were three Mariams who walked with the master every time: his mother and her sister and Magdalene - this one who they call her his Partner (κοινωνός). Maria Indeed is his sister and his mother is and his ⲥⲱⲧⲣⲉ is

Paterson Brown translation, hopeless. Slightly adjusted already.
Please do note that there are numerous trap doors to this logion. What I think that happened is:

36. There were three walking with the master every time: Maria his mother and (Maria) her sister and (Maria) Magdalene - this one who they call her his Partner (κοινωνός). Maria Indeed is: his sister and his mother is, and his ϩⲱⲧⲣⲉ is

Do very closely observe the additions

Loosely translated: ... Maria; his mother, her sister, and Magdalene.
... Maria Indeed it is: his sister and his mother, and his wife

There can be no doubt about what the text says: Maria is the sister of Maria the mother, and she is also his sister. Is the text right or wrong? You decide, because the text has no say in that, apparently.
ϩⲱⲧⲣⲉ naturally is almost identical to ⲥⲱⲧⲣ, but it isn't: it is the Stative of the verb 'to join, double': Joined, Doubled

But the Magdalene, she most certainly ranked highest of all - in the Chrestian tradition. With the two different words here, Greek next to Coptic, this really is what we would soulmate, I think: his wife, perhaps even
