Perhaps Satan and the Demiurge (Creator) are to be considered as 'one' in the very same sense as for which: "I (Jesus) and the Father are one." A sense which infers a father and (unique) son relationship in both cases.
Per April D. DeConick a quite literal reading of the Koine/Greek 'Gospel of John' in verse 8:44 expresses precisely this father/son relationship between the God of the Jews (the Creator) and the Devil. It is said (by DeConick) that Augustine acknowledged this as the literal translation as well, but resorted to dismissing it via calling it the "simpletons" way of translating this verse.
