The Bartimeus's episode confirms your point very well: the blind people see Jesus the Nazarene, the mortal man, and they will continue to see the mortal man even when he will be risen!, while only the people who see really, only them (Bartimeus in primis after the healing), will understand that the true hero of the holy fable is the alien possessor (= separationism), not the mere recipient, Jesus Nazarene.

This reading confutes definitely spin's attempt that Nazareth is interpolated in 1:6.

The subtle point conveyed by the original separationist author ('Mark') is that the pious women were looking for Jesus "the Nazarene", that is, the mortal Jesus, the same Jesus who perished on the cross after being abandoned by the alien Spirit who possessed him throughout his brief ministry, only, in spite of the fact that this Jesus is indeed resurrected, he continues to have the sole 'sin' of being only Jesus "the Nazarene," that is, the man without the spirit, as only a Nazarene Jesus could be before being possessed by the spiritual 'Christ' in the Jordan.

Hence, 'Nazaret' is original in 1:6, pace spin.

Now I should search for that scholar who had proposed this same doctrine for Cerinthus (that the human recipient died and was risen, without being really the true hero of the story). I don't remember the name...

ADDENDA: the prof is Charles E. Hill. Read from here on.

              2. James and Levi = brothers (both sons of Alphaeus). KK has also pointed out the special chiasm here. "James" gets the special brotherly treatment here. An echo of "brother of the Lord"? I think so.
              3. Do I really need KK to point out the connection between the saying regarding Disciples "First last and last first" and the listing of Disciples with "Mega" (great) first and Alpha last for an author who used the Greek Alphabet?

                • and Andrew, and Philip
Only one of the two (names) is identified as a brother, Andrew is the brother of Simon.
                  • and Bartholomew,
                -
                  • and Matthew, and Thomas
Wait, no brother here? Wrong! "Thomas" means "twin" and if he was a twin he was a brother. So one (name) is identified as a brother.
                • and James the [son] of Alphaeus, and Levi,
