You might try switching from a hand held phone to a laptop to help you make clearer arguments.

to outhouse,
So the revolt happened when people NOT FROM Jerusalem made the pilgrimage TO Jerusalem.
The revolt in Jerusalem started years before the Passover of 70 AD.
If it was rooted in Jerusalem, it would be to overthrow the people conspiring with Romans, the hated Hellenistic temple cult.
Actually the revolt in Jerusalem against the Romans was initiated by Eleazar (and not to overthrow people conspiring with the Romans), the governor of the temple and son of Ananias, the high priest. At the same time, some seditious men (but not Galileans) took Masada and killed the Romans here. That started a chain reaction (at first from Jerusalem inhabitants) leading to the destruction of Jerusalem four years later. (Wars, II, XVII)
And all of that began after several provocations and irresponsible behavior by the Roman governor, Florus. (Wars, II, XIV-XVI)

Questions:
a) If the so-called Hellenistic temple cult was so hated, why large crowds of Jews were attending it?
b) What evidence do you have about the temple cult being hated?

Cordially, Bernard

Stephen's speech in Acts, Pseudo-Clementines all of which points to it being a Dositheus critique

There were a series of revolts. It might be appropriate to call some of it agitation. There was some agitation around the Census under Quirinius in 6 CE.

The events in Jerusalem 66-70 AD/CE were as much a response to events outside Jerusalem, if not more so.

We know that Bernard. But many of the victims were said to be trapped there from Passover festivities

According to Josephus, the violence which began at Caesarea in 66 was provoked by Greeks

The Roman garrison did not intervene and the long-standing Hellenistic and Jewish religious tensions took a downward spiral.

The Great Revolt began in the year 66 CE, originating in Roman and Jewish ethnic tensions. The crisis escalated due to anti-taxation protests and attacks upon Roman citizens.

Maybe mr Bernard does not comprehend what Roman and Jewish ethnic tensions actually were
