For He was crucified on the day before that of Saturn (Saturday); and on the day after that of Saturn, which is the day of the Sun, having appeared to His apostles and disciples, He taught them these things, which we have submitted to you also for your consideration.
Two quick remarks.
At the time of Jesus saturnday was the first day of the week because at that time Saturn was Rome's main god.
During Jesus time the week had 8 days. It's unknown when exactly the calendar changed but a calendar dated 40AD found in a Roman bath house has 8 weekdays.

It's impossible that the author was using the calendar used during crucifixion because it would mean He was in the grave for almost a week because saturnday was the first day of the week.
And even if Jesus rose on a sunday on the calendar in use during crucifixion, that day would change constantly on our calendar because the ancient week was one day longer.

Or was Saturnday a simple, but wrong, 'translation' of Sabbath day?

So it's quite possible that today, the day you are reading this post, His crucifixion took place on a Monday on our calendar.
