Yes Coptic and Ancient Egyptian are to some extent the same language written in different alphabets.

Exactly that. Hieroglyphs aren't words, they're sounds.
Read any hieroglyph dictionary and you'll recognise the Coptic word. Coptic is Egyptian transcribed in the Greek alphabet with 6 to 7 letters from Demotic added to make up for sounds that weren't present. 6 or 7 letters? Yes, that depends on the dialect used
