That's obviously not the literary purpose of the gospel.
Well, you could also factor in the theology of the Essences but hey, who on this forum would even consider it? Certainly not the mythicists.

Who or what were the Essenes. They're so remote now they're almost mythical.

The purpose of the Gospels is that of providing etiological faerie tales for the eucharist and the baptism, making them look like fulfilment of Scripture.
