List of items who support a Marcionite influence on the gospels

Post by Giuseppe »

  • 1) the emphasis on the "new": a new god, new wineskins, new followers, new authority etc
  • 2) the emphasis on the "good": a good message, only god is good, golden rule, etc
  • 3) the emphasis on the "alien": the good samaritan, the gratitude only by gentiles, nowhere where to lay his head, the Son of Man, the Independent Exorcist, etc

More influence is portrayed by all those completely illogical polemic reactions against Marcionite doctrine.

What is the difference between; 'new' and 'new and improved'?

Did Marcion create a new gospel or a new and improved gospel? A new god or a new and improved god ?

Or did he simply infringe (steal) the melody/song lyrics to the gospel and rework it so he could claim sole proprietorship for a whole new song?
You know, like "Blinded by the Light" by Bruce Springsteen.

Did they have copyrights for scrolls back then when Marcion took his little razor to the gospels?

you can ignore/insult Marcion all the time, only you can't claim that he edited Luke, sorry.

I'm not sure what you meant by edited. Do you mean like redacted? A redaction is a severe form of edit. Redaction is usually done to hide the truth from the readers. You know, like when the DOJ redacted the illegal search warrant against Biden's political foe, the innocent MAGA Trump? :cheeky:

How would you feel if someone came along and redacted all of your posts to fit the narrative that Jesus did indeed exist?

So then, tell us plainly, are you using Marcion's dishonest tactics as a justification to redact the gospel even further? If so, just what parts of the gospel will survive your little mythicist razor, if any?

JohnT is only spreading right-wing apologist propaganda. Others know that both Lk and that so-called Marcionite things derive from a common source, which was also dishonestly abused by Mk.

What others? How do they know? What common source? Or, are you just spreading mythicist propaganda?

Never forget Marcion recanted and begged for forgiveness for misleading his congregates. His only influence was leading illiterate Christians astray.

Did Marcion claim to have a different gospel handed down to him that was written before Mark? Or was it simply his misinterpretation of Mark?

Marcionism: A Christian heresy of the second and third centuries A.D. that rejected the Old Testament and denied the incarnation of God in Jesus as a human. The American Heritage.

What am I missing? :consternation:

4) "I came not to destroy the law and the prophets" which is a reaction to an earlier claim from Christians saying Jesus came to abolish the Law and Prophets.
