Ezra is interesting for a variety of reasons. For material I've studied, the word Immar/Immer should be of great interest:

"Immar" (Strong's H563) is "Lamb" and plz note what is given in RSV: The first two uses are given in Descriptive/Historical Language, of events that supposedly occured at the Return. Then, there is this:

Ezra 7: 11 (RSV):

[11] This is a copy of the letter which King Ar-ta-xerx'es gave to Ezra the priest, the scribe, learned in matters of the commandments of the LORD and his statutes for Israel:

Hmmm... "This is a COPY..."

An exact Copy? A Translated Copy into the Hebrew? The important point here is that the word "Lambs" is given across a descriptive/historical boundary to a Missive from Artaxerxes.

Further, Immer is given as the 16th Mishmarot Priestly Group (1 Chronicles 24) and "Immer" is found in Ezra. So, we have "immar' used in Passover Language, across Diplomatic Boundaries and "Immer", the 16th Mishamrot Group with "immar" and "immer" being the same word in Hebrew.

" אמּר ". "Immar" (H563) and "immer" (H564).

John 1: 29 (RSV):

[29] The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

"Behold, "Immar-Yah...", a Natural Word Play on Descriptive History concerning the Mishmarot Group Immer.
I would expect a similar working of the Language in Ezra, arguing for an "Ezra Narrator" rather than "Ezra-Real".

YMMV.
