"Qumran-Related History: Contemporaries Jannaeus, Absalom, and Judah the Essene," chapter 10, pages 310-325, in
Pushing Sacred Boundaries in Early Judaism and the Ancient Mediterranean: Essays in Honor of Jodi Magness. Editors: Dennis Mizzi, Matthew Grey, Tine Rasalle. Brill, 2023.
E-book (pdf) ISBN: 978-90-04-54082-8; Hardback ISBN: 978-90-04-53772-9
In this article, I support the identification of Alexander Jannaeus as the Qumran-view "Wicked Priest" and Judah the Essene as the "Teacher of Righteousness." Also, that Absalom mentioned in 1QpHab was a brother of Jannaeus. Further, that some other proposed identifications are quite unlikely.
