Garden of Eden

Post by Ethan »

I have throughout studied the Garden of Eden story in Genesis and discovered etymology behind some of the word, the garden is introduced in
genesis 2:6 , the KJV version reads 'But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

The Septuagint doesn't use the word Garden, but παράδεισον ( Paradeison ) but this can be written in Hebrew as פרדאש (PRDAS)
meaning ' Separated from Fire' and reversing the name אשפרד ( ASPRD) , You get the etymology of Ἑσπερίδες ( Hesperides ) , Gen 2:6
reads 'Mist ', in Hebrew that is אֵד from אוּד meaning Fire-brand and so 2:6 seems to suggest the rivers that watered the ground was 'separated from fire' hence פרדאש ( Paradise ).

If one reads the Septuagint, the name Eden doesn't appear, but instead it is written Edem, this is the Hebrew אַדְמֹ meaning Ruddy, for
2:6 starts 'Mist (AD) from (MN), ran together as אַדְמֹנִי (Ruddy) and thus conclude the original intended name was Edom and not Eden.

They are four rivers, the first two Pison ( Φισ-ων) and Gihon (Γη-ων) , these are written as Greek locative nouns, thus must have being translated from a Greek source.

Gen 2:11-12 - Pison compasses 'Land of Havilah' were there is Gold... there is Bdellium and Onyx Stone

Havilah (חֲוִילָה ) derives from Greek 'ἔπαυλις ( Epaulis ) meaning habitation and cognate with חַוָּה meaning Village but also that word
itself along with Villa and Polis, Bdellium is Beryl, derives from Gk βηρύλλιον (Eze 28:13) , the reference to Gold is descriptive, but are referring
Snow.

Gen 2:13 - Second River is Gihon.. Land of Ethiopia

Gihon as other biblical appearances, the most important is 2 Chronicles 32:30 that reads ' Hezekiah also stopped the upper watercourse of Gihon '
because these are not natural rivers but man made conduits, see also Isaiah 7:3 'the conduit of the upper pool' and 2 Kings 20:20 'he made a pool, and a conduit, and brought water into the city' , Pison also appears but via dialects as Kishon , see 1 Kings 18:38, reading 'Fire of the lord fell.. burnt sacrifice..licked up the water that was in the trench and 1 Kings 18:40 'Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon' . Ethiopia means 'Burnt mouth', the Hebrew name is Cush derives from κάος ( Kindle , that which burns) and thus that 'Fire' theme.

Gen 2:14 - And the name of the third river is Hiddekel:

The name Hiddekel is a transliteration of the Greek word κατακλείς ( Katakleis ) meaning 'Instrument for shutting' ,

κατακλείς > κτκλ > חִדֶּקֶל

The Septuagint word is Tigris which derives from the Hebrew תְּעָלָה ( TGLE ), a variant of κατακλείς meaning conduit which appears
in 2 Kings 20:20 - he made a pool, and a conduit (תְּעָלָה) and brought water into the city,

Euphrates as in ' Separated.

The waters appear in 2 Kings 2:22 that states ' Waters were healed' , the word Healed is rapha' , cognate with Greek Therapeia ( Healing)
but is often translated to mean 'Giants', as well as Nephilim (נָפִיל ) which derives from Greek νεφέλη (Nephele) meaning Fallen-Cloud because
the Rivers and streams in the Levant are sourced from the melting snow or winter torrents of Mount Hermon, Hebrew words for 'melting' are similar to words relating to burning and fire hence they are 'Separated from Fire'

Eden appears in the Book of Ezekiel and verse 31:16 tells use that Eden is in Lebanon and also Amos 1:6 since that is were Mount Hermon
is located for that is the Mountain of God ( Ezekiel 28:13) or Mount Elohim , also known as הֹר הָהָֽר ( Mountain of Mountains) which is the etymology of Ararat, but commonly known as Mount Hermon (Deuteronomy 3:8) cognate with Greek god Hermes, but from Ἑρμῆς meaning
'Boundary marker' see Numbers 34:8 ' Mount Hor shall point out your border' , It is also known as Mount Zalmon, see Judges 9:48 and Psalms 68:14 that reads 'White as Snow in Zalmon' , that is צַלְמוֹן dialectic form of Shelom thus also called Mount Shelom or הֹר שָׁלַם or יְרוּשָׁלַם ( Jerusalem)
also called Zion see Deuteronomy 4:48 'mount Sion, which is Hermon', Sion/Zion derive from χιών ( Snow), so Zion is related to the English word Snow too.

Numbers 12:10 (Snow cloud )
And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous
white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.

Job 24:19
Drought and heat consume the snow waters

Isa 55:10
For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth,

This is Mount Hermon, a popular Ski Resort in the Levant.

Adam means ruddy named identically with Esau see Gen 25:25, whom came out Red with a hairy garment , Esau also as a wife known
as a Hivite (חִוִּי), same meaning as Eve ( חַוָּה ) thus two accounts of Adam and Eve in Genesis, Esau was Hairy ( Se'ar ) but also the white-hair of a Goat , see Gen 37:31, killed a goat (Se'ar) and dipped the coat in Blood, or Daniel 7:9 'garment was white as snow, and the hair (Se'ar) of his head like the pure wool , similar word is also used to describe a cloud see Nahum 1:3 'the whirlwind ( cuwphah) and in the storm(Se'ara)the clouds are the dust ('abaq) of his feet (regel)

Gen 25:26 ' Esau's heal (`aqeb)
Gen 3:15 ' bruise his heel (`aqeb)

This derives from the Epic of Gilgamesh that mentions Mount Hermon split after Gilgamesh kills Humbaba see Tablet V that states "The ground split open with the heels of their feet, as they whirled around in circles , Mt. Hermon and Lebanon split"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Hermon

Hermon is also called Sirion ( Se'ar) , this is the etymology of Syria.

The conduits in Genesis 2, are also described as 'Upper Waters' and 'Lower Waters', see 2 Chronicles 32:30 that reads ' Hezekiah stopped the upper watercourse of Gihon' and a wheeled mechanism was used to achieve this but also deciphers Genesis 1 and how is alluded too Genesis 2.

Gen 1:6
And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

Gen 1:6 also describes Upper / Lower waters.

The 'Wheeled' mechanism is detailed in Ezekiel and Kings

Ezekiel 1:23 - under the firmament
Ezekiel 1:26 - above the firmament

1 Kings 7:30
And every base had four brasen wheels, and plates of brass: and the four corners thereof had undersetters: under the laver were undersetters molten, at the side of every addition.

1 Kings 7:4
There were windows in three rows, and light was against light in three rank

Gen 6:16
A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories

Gen 6:15
And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits

1 Kings 7:2
the length thereof was an hundred cubits, and the breadth thereof fifty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits

Gen 8:2
The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained , the story concludes ' neither will I again smite any more every thing '

Noah's Ark was NOT a Boat, but the same structure described in Ezekiel and 1 Kings 7 , a Noria/Sakia type structure and are often
powered by Animals ( that why Noah' Ark needed them)

The terms referring to traditional water-raising devices used in the Middle East, India, Spain and other areas are sometimes used rather loosely. The term noria is commonly used for devices using the power of moving water. For devices powered by animals, the usual term is sakia or saqiya. Other types of similar devices are grouped under the name of chain pumps. In Spain the term "noria" is used also for devices which are actually sakias.

the Gihon Spring was already protected by a massive tower and was included in the city's defensive wall system, Jerusalem seems to have been supplied with enough water in case of siege even without this tunnel. According to Ahron Horovitz, director of the Megalim Institute, the tunnel can be interpreted as an additional aqueduct designed for keeping the entire outflow of the spring inside the walled area, which included the downstream Pool of Siloam, with the specific purpose of withholding water from any besieging forces. Both the spring itself, and the pool at the end of the tunnel, would have been used by the inhabitants as water sources. Troops positioned outside the walls wouldn't have reached any of it, because even the overflow water released from the Pool of Siloam would have fully disappeared into a karstic system located right outside the southern tip of the city walls. In contrast to that, the previous water system did release all the water not used by the city population into the Kidron Valley to the east, where besieging troops could have taken advantage of it.

The wheeled mechanism is briefly mentioned here

Genesis 3:24
So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

2 Samuel 22:11 - And he rode (Rakab) upon a cherub ( Keruwb) , and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind
Psalms 104:3 - Who maketh the clouds his chariot ( Rekuwb): who walketh upon the wings of the wind

Ezekiel 10:2
And he spake unto the man clothed with linen, and said, Go in between the wheels, even under the cherub, and fill thine hand with coals of fire from between the cherubims, and scatter them over the city. And he went in in my sight

Ezekiel 10:9
And when I looked, behold the four wheels by the cherubims, one wheel by one cherub, and another wheel by another cherub: and the appearance of the wheels was as the colour of a beryl stone.

Ezekiel 41:18
And it was made with cherubims and palm trees, so that a palm tree was between a cherub and a cherub; and every cherub had two faces;

Psalms 92:12
The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

The wheeled mechanism described in 1 Kings 7 was built in Lebanon.

1 Kings 7:2
He built also the house of the forest of Lebanon;

1 Kings 7:36
For on the plates of the ledges thereof, and on the borders thereof, he graved cherubims, lions, and palm trees, according to the proportion of every one, and additions round about

This confirms Eden is Lebanon.

1 Kings 7 states the structure was built by Solomon, that i equate with the structure built by Noah and Hezekiah, note that the
wife of Solomon was named Naamah(1Ki 14:21), which also appears in Gen 4:33 thus contemporary with Noah, so it deduces
down, Noah > Solomon > Hezekiah > Ezekiel who i identify with the retired Lebanese King of Tyre called Azemilcus ( King Azek )
who is depicted with a winged-hippocampus diving under a galley, as in his structure he described in Ezekiel.

I believe Ezekiel, Songs of Solomon , Psalms of David , Isaiah and Genesis were written by King Azek.

The Sons of Noah appear to describe a large geography but is describing a much smaller geography , the first son is Japheth
related to Joppa ( Jonah 1:3), Ham derives from χεῖμα meaning Winter and 'Shem from Greek σημεῖον (Shmeion) also the etymology
of Shamayim.

Gen 10:13 ( North Syria)
Ludim(Lydia) Naphtuhim (Nephtali )Pathrusim (Pteria) Kaphtor (Cappadocia)

Gen 10:7 ( Levant )
Sheba Deden Nimrod Raamah ( Num 32:3 - Ezekiel 27:22 - Joshua 15:33 )

Gen 10:5 - Phoenician Coastal Cities

The name Arphaxad, dialect form of Arkasad (אור כשד) from Greek Argolidas but misread in Hebrew as 'Ur-Chaldee'
and is a form of the name Argos, meaning 'white-fields' describing the snow fields of Lebanon.

Gen 10:10 ( Lebanon )
Babel ( Baalbek )
Erech ( same as Aroukaion )
Accad (Αρχαδ = Arpad) ( 2 Kings 18:34 - Hamath and Arpad)
Calneh ( Amos 6:2 - Calneh near Hamath )
Shinar ( Shinar means Mountain of Snow)

Joshua 13:5 - Mount Hermon unto the entering into Hamath.
Num 34:8 - Mount Hor ye shall point out your border unto the entrance of Hamath;

Hamath from χεῖμα ( wintery) , same as Ham

Num 13:21
So they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin (Snow) unto Rehob ( 2Sa 10:8) , as men come to Hamath.

Moses was wandering around Lebanon NOT the current location known as Sinai, as in Genesis 10:17 that reads 'Sinite'
as in the wilderness of Sin(Snow) ( Exodus 16:1 ) between Elim and Sinai ( Mountain of Snow) and Elim means 'Palm'
see Exo 15:27 because φοίνικα (Pheonix ) is also the Greek word for Palm and thus the story in the Exodus took place in Lebanon.

Mount Hermon in Lebanon as THREE snowy peeks and this is the reason why Noah and Adam have three children, along with Aaron-Moses-Miram, Abram-Nahor-Haran and the three Nephilim (νεφέλη) known as Sheshai, Ahiman and Talmai.

Moses, Aaron and Miriam are all described being covered in Snow.

Exodus 4:6 - Moses covered in Snow
Numbers 12:10 - Miriam covered in Snow
Numbers 33:39 - Aaron died at peek of Mt.Hor ( that is covered in Snow)

Num 12:10 - The cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous

The three-peaked snowy mountains would melt (Burn) into the rivers and streams and thus feed the 'Garden of Eden, but also cause Flooding, this is the premise of Noah's flood, that was caused by 'Giants' , the Hebrew is nĕphiyl and derives from the Greek νεφέλη ( Nephele) meaning Fallen-Cloud, same etymology of Niflheim ( Ice ) in Norse Mythology, in which the freezing waters fell, mixed with the clay (Adam) forming the body of a Giant.

The Giants appear once more in Numbers 13:33 known as the Sons of Anak and described like Grasshoppers, which in
Hebrew is חָגָב (khag·äv) meaning Clefts relating to Greek ''σκέπη ( covering) in Ice, they are also described as Locusts (khag·äv) same word and Arbeh ( Exodus 10:19) (Josh 14:15) that 'Fell' into the Red Sea

In Norse mythology, Thor defeated an Ice-Giant known as Geirrod, alike how King David defeated the Giant known as Goliath, Geirrod / Goliath both mean Ice from גליד (GLID) which means Ice-Cream in modern Hebrew and related to the word Cold

The serpent in the garden that tempted Eve , the Hebrew is Nahash (נָחָשׁ) and looking through other uses of this word, It is also the name of a King in the narratives of King David, known as 'Nahash of Ammon' .

According to Gen 2:22, a Rib was taken from Adam, the Rib is צֵלָע but if written as a name it would be צִלָּה ( Zillah ), the
wife of Lamech ( father of Noah) and so Lamech must be a duplicate of Adam, also known as Esau, who had a wife called Adah ( Gen 36:4) as did Lamech ( Gen 4:19) and Bosmath ( Gen 36:3) named daughter of Solomon ( 1Ki 4:15) which means the Story of Adam and Eve , Esau and David and Solomon are contemporaneous, in other words, 'Eve' is the mother of King David. who had an affair with King Nahash ( Serpent) of Ammon, see Psalms 51:5 'in sin did my mother conceive', the premise of the Original Sin.

This story is based on the legend of the Alexander romance, the mother of Alexander, Olympias was a devout member of the 'Snake' cult of Dionysus, now according to Legend, whilst Philip was away on a campaign, Nectanebo convinced Olympias that 'Ammon' was to come on to her and father a son, Nectanebo disguised himself as Ammon and slept with Olympias and conceived Alexander the Great , Nectanebo Egyptian name is 'Nakht compare to נָחָשׁ *nakash, They are many similarities between David and Alexander , David was born in the House of Ephrath, Alexander in the house of Epirus, in Attic Greek that is ''Epirote which transliterates into Hebrew as Ephrath.

I don't agree the Hebrew names came from Greek names/words.

1st river compasses the land of Gold.
2nd river compasses the land of Cush "Ethiopia", and Ethiopians are from the silver age in a Classical/Egyptian source.
So 4 rivers are a type of 4 world ages (gold, silver, brazen, iron) as well as 4 quarters of world (forming a Cross).
Josephus' meanings of the 4 rivers names also confirm types of 4 world ages.
There are also confirmation matches of the 4 rivers & 4 ages in a number of other nations myths around the world.

The rivers suggests Eden is located in Babylon, to be more specific, Sittace.
Xenophon, Anabasis 2.4.13
Then they reached the Tigris river, near which was a large and populous city named Sittace, fifteen stadia from the river. The Greeks accordingly encamped beside this city, near a large and beautiful park (παραδείσου)
The word Park here is παράδεισος, an oriental word first used by Xenophon, always in reference to the parks of the Persian kings and nobles.
Xenophon, Anabasis 2.4.25
From the Tigris they marched four stages, twenty parasangs, to the Physcus river, which was a plethrum in width and had a bridge over it. There was situated a large city named Opis.
Physcus is also called Φύσκων which could transliterate into פישון (Phison). The river is also called Tornadotus, from τόρνος compass, notice the description of Phison, compassing Havilah (הוילה / Βαβυλωνία)
Pliny - The Natural History 6.31 TIGRIS
Between these peoples and Mesene is Sittacene, which is also called Arbelitis and Palæstine. Its city of Sittace s of Greek origin; this and Sabdata lie to the east, and on the west is Antiochia, between the two rivers Tigris and Tornadotus, as also Apamea, to which Antiochus gave this name, being that of his mother. The Tigris surrounds this city, which is also traversed by the waters of the Archoüs.
