A reason to think so is that Titus and Vespasian had saved Josephus (by making him free) while in the same time they had crucified Jesus b. Sapphat in his place.
Now, if Josephus, as effect of his adoption by the Flavian dynasty, received the nomen and cognomen respectively of TITUS FLAVIUS, then he could be known also as "Son" [=TITUS] of the "Father" (=Vespasian, i.e. a FLAVIUS].
Hence, Pilate who frees Barabbas is really Titus and Vespasian who freed their adopted "Son of the Father": Josephus.
Barabbas == Barnabas == Josephus = adopted "Son of the Father" Vespasian
Re: Barabbas == Barnabas == Josephus = adopted "Son of the Father" Vespasian
Can you refer the precise passage where Josephus said that he received the new name of FLAVIUS ?
Thanks in advance.

At that time they had a well-known prisoner whose name was Jesus Barabbas.
(Matthew 27:16)
Josephus was a "a well-known prisoner", too.
