angels?: Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Angel of Yahweh, Metatron

Sophia/Wisdom?

"Who do men say I am?"
Sure, those all would qualify, I think. The Logos (Philo) I would add. The suffering servant (Isaiah), the righteous son of God (Wisdom of Solomon), Yesseus, Mazareus, Yessedekeus, the Living Water (Apoc of Adam), etc.

Who do men say I am?

What is your name?

Name above all names?

Clive wrote:There seems to be an assumption, possibly from biology, that there is a last common ancestor Christ, we argue here is it "mythical" or "historical".

But what if we are using unconsciously the wrong biological model?

It is now accepted there was - and is - a huge bacterial world where horizontal gene transfer is the reality. Mix and match.

So why not for example ask how many different Christs are there in the New Testament? What are their common points and differences?

And instead of attempting to ask how do they track back to a historical Jesus or a Cosmic Christ, ask what bits are they made from? Which part bins were used to put together particular Christs? The Land Rover Discovery Christ, the Ford Christ, the Emperor Christ?
You can use your imagination and make as many as you please.

Its easy to take the word out of context and pervert it to no end.

What, though, if there are actually many christs?

Depends on how bad you want to pervert "the anointed one"

I agree! The Christian Christ is likely a continuation of a tradition.

and there are likely to be Christs concurrent to (or 'parallel to') the Christian Christ.

Sure.
See http://www.mountainman.com.au/essenes/c ... ristos.htm

and it was applied to manumitted slaves

add: this fits with cienfuegos's assertion (in another thread) that
There is evidence that some Jews began referring to a suffering servant figure in the past tense (such as in the Wisdom of Solomon) and possibly pre-Christian versions of the Ascension of Isaiah.
.
