But after he had pondered these things, an angel of [the] Lord appeared to him in a dream [and] said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to embrace Mary [as] your wife, for the [One] conceived in her is from [the] Holy Spirit.

Matt 2:15
where he stayed until the death of Herod. This fulfilled what [the] Lord had spoken through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called My Son.”

Matt 3:3
This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: “ [A] voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for [the] Lord, make straight paths for Him.’”

Again, you have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill your vows to the Lord.’
Πάλιν ἠκούσατε ὅτι ἐρρήθη τοῖς ἀρχαίοις· οὐκ ἐπιορκήσεις, ἀποδώσεις δὲ τῷ κύριῳ τοὺς ὅρκους σου.
Matt 6:24
No one can serve two masters: Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to [the] one and despise the other. You cannot serve [both] God and money.
Οὐδεὶς δύναται δυσὶ κύριοις δουλεύειν· ἢ γὰρ τὸν ἕνα μισήσει καὶ τὸν ἕτερον ἀγαπήσει ἢ ἑνὸς ἀνθέξεται καὶ τοῦ ἑτέρου καταφρονήσει. οὐ δύνασθε θεῷ δουλεύειν καὶ μαμωνᾷ.
Matt 7:21
Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
Οὐ πᾶς ὁ λέγων μοι· κύριε κύριε, εἰσελεύσεται εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τῶν οὐρανῶν, ἀλλ᾽ ὁ ποιῶν τὸ θέλημα τοῦ πατρός μου τοῦ ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς.
Matt 7:22
Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and [in] Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’

Matt 8:2
Suddenly a leper came [and] knelt before Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”
καὶ ἰδοὺ λεπρὸς προσελθὼν προσεκύνει αὐτῷ λέγων· κύριε, ἐὰν θέλῃς, δύνασαί με καθαρίσαι.
Matt 8:6
“Lord, my servant lies at home, paralyzed [and] in terrible agony.”
καὶ λέγων· κύριε, ὁ παῖς μου βέβληται ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ παραλυτικὸς δεινῶς βασανιζόμενος.
Matt 8:8
The centurion answered, “Lord, I am not worthy to have You come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ ἑκατόνταρχος ἔφη· κύριε, οὐκ εἰμὶ ἱκανὸς ἵνα μου ὑπὸ τὴν στέγην εἰσέλθῃς, ἀλλὰ μόνον εἰπὲ λόγῳ, καὶ ἰαθήσεται ὁ παῖς μου.
Matt 8:21
Another of His disciples requested, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”
Ἕτερος δὲ τῶν μαθητῶν εἶπεν αὐτῷ· κύριε, ἐπίτρεψόν μοι πρῶτον ἀπελθεῖν καὶ θάψαι τὸν πατέρα μου.
Matt 8:25
[The disciples] went [and] woke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”
καὶ προσελθόντες ἤγειραν αὐτὸν λέγοντες· κύριε, σῶσον, ἀπολλύμεθα.
Matt 9:28
After [Jesus] had entered the house, the blind [men] came to Him. “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” [He] asked. “Yes, Lord,” they answered.
ἐλθόντι δὲ εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν προσῆλθον αὐτῷ οἱ τυφλοί, καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· πιστεύετε ὅτι δύναμαι τοῦτο ποιῆσαι; λέγουσιν αὐτῷ· ναὶ κύριε.
Matt 9:38
Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest.”
δεήθητε οὖν τοῦ κύριου τοῦ θερισμοῦ ὅπως ἐκβάλῃ ἐργάτας εἰς τὸν θερισμὸν αὐτοῦ.
Matt 10:24
A disciple is not above [his] teacher, nor a servant above his master.
Οὐκ ἔστιν μαθητὴς ὑπὲρ τὸν διδάσκαλον οὐδὲ δοῦλος ὑπὲρ τὸν κύριον αὐτοῦ.
Matt 10:25
[It is] enough for a disciple to be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household!
ἀρκετὸν τῷ μαθητῇ ἵνα γένηται ὡς ὁ διδάσκαλος αὐτοῦ καὶ ὁ δοῦλος ὡς ὁ κύριος αὐτοῦ. εἰ τὸν οἰκοδεσπότην Βεελζεβοὺλ ἐπεκάλεσαν, πόσῳ μᾶλλον τοὺς οἰκιακοὺς αὐτοῦ;
Matt 11:25
At that time Jesus declared, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from [the] wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.
Ἐν ἐκείνῳ τῷ καιρῷ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν· ἐξομολογοῦμαί σοι, πάτερ κύριε τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ τῆς γῆς, ὅτι ἔκρυψας ταῦτα ἀπὸ σοφῶν καὶ συνετῶν καὶ ἀπεκάλυψας αὐτὰ νηπίοις.
Matt 12:8
For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”

Matt 13:27
The owner’s servants came to him [and] said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did [the] weeds {come from} ?’
προσελθόντες δὲ οἱ δοῦλοι τοῦ οἰκοδεσπότου εἶπον αὐτῷ· κύριε, οὐχὶ καλὸν σπέρμα ἔσπειρας ἐν τῷ σῷ ἀγρῷ; πόθεν οὖν ἔχει ζιζάνια;
Matt 14:28
“Lord, if [it] is You,” Peter replied, “command me to come to You on the water.”
Ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ αὐτῷ ὁ Πέτρος εἶπεν· κύριε, εἰ σὺ εἶ, κέλευσόν με ἐλθεῖν πρὸς σὲ ἐπὶ τὰ ὕδατα.
Matt 14:30
But when he saw the strength of the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
βλέπων δὲ τὸν ἄνεμον ἰσχυρὸν ἐφοβήθη, καὶ ἀρξάμενος καταποντίζεσθαι ἔκραξεν λέγων· κύριε, σῶσόν με.
Matt 15:22
And a Canaanite woman from that region came [to Him] , crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter {is} miserably possessed by a demon.”
καὶ ἰδοὺ γυνὴ Χαναναία ἀπὸ τῶν ὁρίων ἐκείνων ἐξελθοῦσα ἔκραζεν λέγουσα· ἐλέησόν με, κύριε υἱὸς Δαυείδ. ἡ θυγάτηρ μου κακῶς δαιμονίζεται.
Matt 15:25
[The woman] came [and] knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said.
Ἡ δὲ ἐλθοῦσα προσεκύνει αὐτῷ λέγουσα· κύριε, βοήθει μοι.
Matt 15:27
“Yes, Lord,” she said, “ - even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”
Ἡ δὲ εἶπεν· ναὶ κύριε· καὶ γὰρ τὰ κυνάρια ἐσθίει ἀπὸ τῶν ψιχίων τῶν πιπτόντων ἀπὸ τῆς τραπέζης τῶν κύριων αὐτῶν.
Matt 16:22
Peter took Him aside [and] began to rebuke Him. “Far be it from You, Lord!” he said. “This {shall} never happen to You!”
καὶ προσλαβόμενος αὐτὸν ὁ Πέτρος ἤρξατο ἐπιτιμᾶν αὐτῷ λέγων· εἵλεώς σοι, κύριε· οὐ μὴ ἔσται σοι τοῦτο.
Matt 17:4
Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If You wish, I will put up three shelters: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
Ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ Πέτρος εἶπεν τῷ Ἰησοῦ· κύριε, καλόν ἐστιν ἡμᾶς ὧδε εἶναι. εἰ θέλεις, ποιήσω ὧδε τρεῖς σκηνάς, σοὶ μίαν καὶ Μωϋσεῖ μίαν καὶ Ἠλίᾳ μίαν.
Matt 17:15
“Lord, have mercy on my son,” he said. “ - He has seizures and is suffering terribly. He often falls into the fire [or] into the water.
καὶ λέγων· κύριε, ἐλέησόν μου τὸν υἱόν, ὅτι σεληνιάζεται καὶ κακῶς ἔχει· πολλάκις γὰρ πίπτει εἰς τὸ πῦρ καὶ πολλάκις εἰς τὸ ὕδωρ.
Matt 18:21
Then Peter came to [Jesus] [and] asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
Τότε προσελθὼν αὐτῷ ὁ Πέτρος εἶπεν· κύριε, ποσάκις ἁμαρτήσει εἰς ἐμὲ ὁ ἀδελφός μου καὶ ἀφήσω αὐτῷ; ἕως ἑπτάκις;
Matt 18:25
Since [the man] was unable to pay, the master ordered that he be sold to pay [his] debt, along with [his] wife and children and everything he owned.
μὴ ἔχοντος δὲ αὐτοῦ ἀποδοῦναι ἐκέλευσεν αὐτὸν ὁ κύριος πραθῆναι καὶ τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ τέκνα καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἔχει καὶ ἀποδοθῆναι.
Matt 18:26
Then the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Have patience with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’
Πεσὼν οὖν ὁ δοῦλος προσεκύνει αὐτῷ λέγων· κύριε, μακροθύμησον ἐπ᾽ ἐμοί, καὶ πάντα ἀποδώσω σοι.
Matt 18:27
[His] master had compassion [on him] , forgave his debt, [and] released him.
Σπλαγχνισθεὶς δὲ ὁ κύριος τοῦ δούλου ἐκείνου ἀπέλυσεν αὐτὸν καὶ τὸ δάνειον ἀφῆκεν αὐτῷ.
Matt 18:31
[When] his fellow servants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed, and they went [and] recounted all [of this] to their master.
Ἰδόντες οὖν οἱ σύνδουλοι αὐτοῦ τὰ γενόμενα ἐλυπήθησαν σφόδρα, καὶ ἐλθόντες διεσάφησαν τῷ κύριῳ ἑαυτῶν πάντα τὰ γενόμενα.
Matt 18:32
Then the master summoned him [and] declared, ‘ [You] wicked servant! I forgave all [your] debt because you begged me.
Τότε προσκαλεσάμενος αὐτὸν ὁ κύριος αὐτοῦ λέγει αὐτῷ· δοῦλε πονηρέ, πᾶσαν τὴν ὀφειλὴν ἐκείνην ἀφῆκά σοι ἐπεὶ παρεκάλεσάς με.
Matt 18:34
In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should repay all that he owed.
Καὶ ὀργισθεὶς ὁ κύριος αὐτοῦ παρέδωκεν αὐτὸν τοῖς βασανισταῖς ἕως οὗ ἀποδῷ πᾶν τὸ ὀφειλόμενον αὐτῷ.
Matt 20:8
When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Call the workers and pay them [their] wages, starting with the last [ones hired] and moving on to the first.’
Ὀψίας δὲ γενομένης λέγει ὁ κύριος τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος τῷ ἐπιτρόπῳ αὐτοῦ· κάλεσον τοὺς ἐργάτας καὶ ἀπόδος αὐτοῖς τὸν μισθὸν ἀρξάμενος ἀπὸ τῶν ἐσχάτων ἕως τῶν πρώτων.
Matt 20:30
And there were two blind [men] sitting beside the road. When they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”
καὶ ἰδοὺ δύο τυφλοὶ καθήμενοι παρὰ τὴν ὁδόν, ἀκούσαντες ὅτι Ἰησοῦς παράγει, ἔκραξαν λέγοντες· ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς Ἰησοῦ, υἱὲ Δαυείδ.
Matt 20:31
The crowd admonished them to be silent, but they cried out all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”
Ὁ δὲ ὄχλος ἐπετίμησεν αὐτοῖς ἵνα σιωπήσωσιν. οἱ δὲ μεῖζον ἔκραξαν λέγοντες· κύριε ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς, υἱὲ Δαυείδ.
Matt 20:33
“Lord,” they answered, “let our eyes be opened.”
λέγουσιν αὐτῷ· κύριε, ἵνα ἀνοιγῶσιν οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ ἡμῶν.
Matt 21:3
If anyone questions you, tell [him] that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.”
καὶ ἐάν τις ὑμῖν εἴπῃ τί, ἐρεῖτε ὅτι ὁ κύριος αὐτῶν χρείαν ἔχει, εὐθὺς δὲ ἀποστελεῖ αὐτούς.
Matt 21:9
The crowds that went ahead of Him and those that followed were shouting: “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is He who comes in [the] name of [the] Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest!”
οἱ δὲ ὄχλοι οἱ προάγοντες αὐτὸν καὶ οἱ ἀκολουθοῦντες ἔκραζον λέγοντες· ὡσαννὰ τῷ υἱῷ Δαυείδ, εὐλογημένος ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἐν ὀνόματι κύριου, ὡσαννὰ ἐν τοῖς ὑψίστοις.
Matt 21:30
Then [the man] went to the second [son] [and] told [him] the same thing. ‘I [will] , Sir,’ he said. But he did not go.
προσελθὼν δὲ τῷ δευτέρῳ εἶπεν ὡσαύτως. ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν· ἐγώ, κύριε· καὶ οὐκ ἀπῆλθεν.
Matt 21:40
Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard returns, what will he do to those tenants?”
ὅταν οὖν ἔλθῃ ὁ κύριος τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος, τί ποιήσει τοῖς γεωργοῖς ἐκείνοις;
Matt 21:42
Jesus said to them, “vvv Have you never read in the Scriptures: ‘ [The] stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is from [the] Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?
Λέγει αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· οὐδέποτε ἀνέγνωτε ἐν ταῖς γραφαῖς· λίθον ὃν ἀπεδοκίμασαν οἱ οἰκοδομοῦντες, οὗτος ἐγενήθη εἰς κεφαλὴν γωνίας. παρὰ κύριου ἐγένετο αὕτη, καὶ ἔστιν θαυμαστὴ ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς ἡμῶν;
Matt 22:37
[Jesus] declared, “‘Love [the] Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
ὁ δὲ ἔφη αὐτῷ· ἀγαπήσεις κύριον τὸν θεόν σου ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ καρδίᾳ σου καὶ ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ ψυχῇ σου καὶ ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ διανοίᾳ σου.
Matt 22:43
[Jesus] said to them, “How then {does} David in [the] Spirit call Him Lord? [For] he says:
Λέγει αὐτοῖς· πῶς οὖν Δαυεὶδ ἐν πνεύματι καλεῖ κύριον αὐτὸν λέγων·
Matt 22:44
‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, until I put Your enemies under Your feet.”’
εἶπεν κύριος τῷ κύριῳ μου· κάθου ἐκ δεξιῶν μου ἕως ἂν θῶ τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου ὑποκάτω τῶν ποδῶν σου;
Matt 22:45
So if David calls Him Lord, how can He be [David’s] son?”
εἰ οὖν Δαυεὶδ καλεῖ αὐτὸν κύριον, πῶς υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἐστιν;
Matt 23:39
For I tell you [that] you will not see Me again until you say, ‘Blessed [is] He who comes in [the] name of [the] Lord.’”
λέγω γὰρ ὑμῖν· οὐ μή με ἴδητε ἀπάρτι ἕως ἂν εἴπητε· εὐλογημένος ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἐν ὀνόματι κύριου.
Matt 24:42
Therefore keep watch, because you do not know [the] day on which your Lord will come.
γρηγορεῖτε οὖν, ὅτι οὐκ οἴδατε ποίᾳ ἡμέρᾳ ὁ κύριος ὑμῶν ἔρχεται.
Matt 24:45
Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of his household, to give [the others] [their] food at the proper time?
Τίς ἄρα ἐστὶν ὁ πιστὸς δοῦλος καὶ φρόνιμος ὃν κατέστησεν ὁ κύριος ἐπὶ τῆς οἰκετείας αὐτοῦ τοῦ δοῦναι αὐτοῖς τὴν τροφὴν ἐν καιρῷ;
Matt 24:46
Blessed [is] that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.
μακάριος ὁ δοῦλος ἐκεῖνος ὃν ἐλθὼν ὁ κύριος αὐτοῦ εὑρήσει οὕτως ποιοῦντα.
Matt 24:48
But suppose that servant [is] wicked [and] says in his heart, ‘My master will be away a long time.’
Ἐὰν δὲ εἴπῃ ὁ κακὸς δοῦλος ἐκεῖνος ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ· χρονίζει μου ὁ κύριος,
Matt 24:50
The master of that servant will come on a day he does not anticipate and at an hour he does not expect.
ἥξει ὁ κύριος τοῦ δούλου ἐκείνου ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ᾗ οὐ προσδοκᾷ καὶ ἐν ὥρᾳ ᾗ οὐ γινώσκει,
Matt 25:11
Later vvv, the other virgins arrived and said, ‘Lord, Lord, open [the door] for us!’
ὕστερον δὲ ἔρχονται καὶ αἱ λοιπαὶ παρθένοι λέγουσαι· κύριε κύριε, ἄνοιξον ἡμῖν.
Matt 25:18
But the [servant] who had received the one [talent] went off, dug a hole in the ground, and hid his master’s money.
ὁ δὲ τὸ ἓν λαβὼν ἀπελθὼν ὤρυξεν γῆν καὶ ἔκρυψεν τὸ ἀργύριον τοῦ κύριου αὐτοῦ.
Matt 25:19
After a long time, the master of those servants returned to settle accounts with them.
μετὰ δὲ πολὺν χρόνον ἔρχεται ὁ κύριος τῶν δούλων ἐκείνων καὶ συναίρει λόγον μετ᾽ αὐτῶν.
Matt 25:20
The [servant] who had received the five talents came [and] presented five more. ‘master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me {with} five talents. See, I have gained five more.’

Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed [You] , or thirsty and give [You] something to drink?
Τότε ἀποκριθήσονται αὐτῷ οἱ δίκαιοι λέγοντες· κύριε, πότε σε εἴδομεν πεινῶντα καὶ ἐθρέψαμεν ἢ διψῶντα καὶ ἐποτίσαμεν;
Matt 25:44
And they too will reply, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’

They were deeply grieved [and] began to ask Him one after another, “Surely not I, Lord?”

Matt 27:10
and they gave them for the potter’s field, as [the] Lord had commanded me.”

“Sir,” they said, “we remember that while He was alive that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise again.’

Matt 28:2
Suddenly there was a great earthquake, for an angel of [the] Lord descended from heaven, rolled away the stone, and sat on it.
καὶ ἰδοὺ σεισμὸς ἐγένετο μέγας· ἄγγελος γὰρ κύριου καταβὰς ἐξ οὐρανοῦ καὶ προσελθὼν ἀπεκύλισε τὸν λίθον καὶ ἐκάθητο ἐπάνω αὐτοῦ.
Mark 1:3
“A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for [the] Lord, make straight paths for Him.’”
φωνὴ βοῶντος ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ἑτοιμάσατε τὴν ὁδὸν κύριου, εὐθείας ποιεῖτε τὰς τρίβους αὐτοῦ.
Mark 2:28
Therefore, the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”

Mark 5:19

If anyone asks, ‘Why are you doing this?’ tell [him] , ‘The Lord needs it and will return it shortly.’”

The [ones who] went ahead and those who followed were shouting: “Hosanna!” “Blessed is He [who] comes in [the] name of [the] Lord!”

Mark 12:9
What then {will} the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and kill [those] tenants, and will give the vineyard to others.
τί οὖν ποιήσει ὁ κύριος τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος; ἐλεύσεται καὶ ἀπολέσει τοὺς γεωργοὺς καὶ δώσει τὸν ἀμπελῶνα ἄλλοις.
Mark 12:11
This is from [the] Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?”
παρὰ κύριου ἐγένετο αὕτη, καὶ ἔστιν θαυμαστὴ ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς ἡμῶν;
Mark 12:29
Jesus replied, “This is the most important: ‘Hear O Israel, [the] Lord our God, [the] Lord is One.

Mark 12:30
Love [the] Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’

David himself calls Him Lord. So how can He be [David’s] son?” And the large crowd listened to Him with delight.

If [the] Lord had not cut short those days, nobody would be saved. But for the sake of the elect, whom He has chosen, He has shortened [them] .
καὶ εἰ μὴ κύριος ἐκολόβωσεν τὰς ἡμέρας, οὐκ ἂν ἐσώθη πᾶσα σάρξ· ἀλλὰ διὰ τοὺς ἐκλεκτοὺς οὓς ἐξελέξατο ἐκολόβωσεν τὰς ἡμέρας.
Mark 13:35
Therefore keep watch, because you do not know when the master of the house will return— whether in the evening, at midnight, when the rooster crows, or in the morning.
γρηγορεῖτε οὖν· οὐκ οἴδατε γὰρ πότε ὁ κύριος τῆς οἰκίας ἔρχεται ἢ ὀψὲ ἢ μεσονύκτιον ἢ ἀλεκτοροφωνίας ἢ πρωΐ·
Mark 16:19
After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was taken up into heaven and sat down at [the] right hand of God.

Luke 1:6
Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and decrees of the Lord.

Luke 1:15
for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He shall never take wine [or] strong drink, and he will be filled [with the] Holy Spirit even from his mother’s womb.

Many of the sons of Israel he will turn back to [the] Lord their God.

One day [Jesus] was teaching, and [the] Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting [there] . [People] had come from Jerusalem and from every village of Galilee and Judea, and [the] power of [the] Lord was [present] for Him to heal [the sick] .

Then [Jesus] declared, “The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”

So Jesus went with them. But when He was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends with the message: “Lord, {do} not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy to have You come under my roof.

Luke 7:13
When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said, “ {Do} not weep.”

Luke 7:19
So John called two of his disciples [and] sent [them] to ask the Lord, “Are You the One who was to come, or should we look for someone else?”
ἔπεμψεν πρὸς τὸν κύριον λέγων· σὺ εἶ ὁ ἐρχόμενος, ἢ ἕτερον προσδοκῶμεν;
Luke 9:54
When the disciples James and John saw [this] , they asked, “Lord, do You want us to call down fire from heaven to consume them?”

Then He said to another [man] , “Follow Me.” [The man] replied, “Lord, first let me go [and] bury my father.”

Luke 9:61
Still another said, “I will follow You, Lord; but first let me bid farewell to my family.”

Luke 10:1
After this, the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of Him to every town and place He was about to visit.
Μετὰ δὲ ταῦτα ἀνέδειξεν ὁ κύριος ἑτέρους ἑβδομήκοντα καὶ ἀπέστειλεν αὐτοὺς ἀνὰ δύο πρὸ προσώπου αὐτοῦ εἰς πᾶσαν πόλιν καὶ τόπον οὗ ἤμελλεν αὐτὸς ἔρχεσθαι.
Luke 10:2
And He told them, “The harvest [is] plentiful, but the workers [are] few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest.
ἔλεγεν δὲ πρὸς αὐτούς· ὁ μὲν θερισμὸς πολύς, οἱ δὲ ἐργάται ὀλίγοι· δεήθητε οὖν τοῦ κύριου τοῦ θερισμοῦ ὅπως ἐργάτας ἐκβάλῃ εἰς τὸν θερισμὸν αὐτοῦ.
Luke 10:17
The seventy-two returned with joy [and] said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in Your name.”
Ὑπέστρεψαν δὲ οἱ ἑβδομήκοντα μετὰ χαρᾶς λέγοντες· κύριε, καὶ τὰ δαιμόνια ὑποτάσσεται ἡμῖν ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί σου.
Luke 10:21
At that time, [Jesus] rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and declared, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from [the] wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was well-pleasing in Your sight.

Luke 10:27
He answered, “‘Love [the] Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ and ‘ [Love] your neighbor as yourself.’”
Ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν· ἀγαπήσεις κύριον τὸν θεόν σου ἐξ ὅλης τῆς καρδίας σου καὶ ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ ψυχῇ σου καὶ ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ ἰσχύϊ σου καὶ ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ διανοίᾳ σου, καὶ τὸν πλησίον σου ὡς σεαυτόν.
Luke 10:39
She had a sister named Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to His message.
καὶ τῇδε ἦν ἀδελφὴ καλουμένη Μαριάμ. καὶ παρακαθεσθεῖσα πρὸς τοὺς πόδας τοῦ Ἰησοῦ ἤκουεν τὸν λόγον αὐτοῦ.
Luke 10:40
But Martha was distracted by all the preparations [to be made] . She came to [Jesus] [and] said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her to help me!”
ἡ δὲ Μάρθα περιεσπᾶτο περὶ πολλὴν διακονίαν. ἐπιστᾶσα δὲ εἶπεν· κύριε, οὐ μέλει σοι ὅτι ἡ ἀδελφή μου μόνην με κατέλειπεν διακονεῖν; εἰπὲ οὖν αὐτῇ ἵνα μοι συναντιλάβηται.
Luke 10:41
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord replied, “you are worried and upset about many things.
Ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῇ ὁ κύριος· Μάρθα Μάρθα, μεριμνᾷς καὶ θορυβάζῃ περὶ πολλά,
Luke 11:1
[One day] in a place where [Jesus] had just finished praying, one of His disciples requested, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”
Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ εἶναι αὐτὸν ἐν τόπῳ τινὶ προσευχόμενον, ὡς ἐπαύσατο, εἶπεν τις τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ πρὸς αὐτόν· κύριε, δίδαξον ἡμᾶς προσεύχεσθαι καθὼς καὶ Ἰωάννης ἐδίδαξεν τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ.
Luke 11:39
“Now then,” said the Lord, “you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness.
Εἶπεν δὲ ὁ κύριος πρὸς αὐτόν· νῦν ὑμεῖς οἱ Φαρισαῖοι τὸ ἔξωθεν τοῦ ποτηρίου καὶ τοῦ πίνακος καθαρίζετε, τὸ δὲ ἔσωθεν ὑμῶν γέμει ἁρπαγῆς καὶ πονηρίας.
Luke 12:36
Then you [ will be ] like [servants] waiting for their master to return from the wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks, they can open [the door] for him at once.
καὶ ὑμεῖς ὅμοιοι ἀνθρώποις προσδεχομένοις τὸν κύριον ἑαυτῶν πότε ἀναλύσῃ ἐκ τῶν γάμων, ἵνα ἐλθόντος καὶ κρούσαντος εὐθέως ἀνοίξωσιν αὐτῷ.
Luke 12:37
Blessed [are] those servants whom the master finds on watch when he returns. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve and will have them recline at the table, and he [himself] will come [and] wait on them.
μακάριοι οἱ δοῦλοι ἐκεῖνοι οὓς ἐλθὼν ὁ κύριος εὑρήσει γρηγοροῦντας· ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι περιζώσεται καὶ ἀνακλινεῖ αὐτούς, καὶ παρελθὼν διακονήσει αὐτοῖς.
Luke 12:41
“Lord,” said Peter, “are You addressing this parable to us, or to everyone else as well?”
Εἶπεν δὲ ὁ Πέτρος· κύριε, πρὸς ἡμᾶς τὴν παραβολὴν ταύτην λέγεις ἢ καὶ πρὸς πάντας;
Luke 12:42
And the Lord answered, “Who then is the faithful [and] wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his [servants] to give [them] [their] portion at the proper time?
καὶ εἶπεν ὁ κύριος· τίς ἄρα ἐστὶν ὁ πιστὸς οἰκονόμος ὁ φρόνιμος ὃν καταστήσει ὁ κύριος ἐπὶ τῆς θεραπείας αὐτοῦ τοῦ διδόναι ἐν καιρῷ σιτομέτριον;
Luke 12:43
Blessed [is] that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.
μακάριος ὁ δοῦλος ἐκεῖνος ὃν ἐλθὼν ὁ κύριος αὐτοῦ εὑρήσει οὕτως ποιοῦντα.
Luke 12:45
But suppose that servant says in his heart, ‘My master will be a long time in coming,’ and he begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and get drunk.
Ἐὰν δὲ εἴπῃ ὁ δοῦλος ἐκεῖνος ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ· χρονίζει ὁ κύριός μου ἔρχεσθαι, καὶ ἄρξηται τύπτειν τοὺς παῖδας καὶ τὰς παιδίσκας ἐσθίειν τε καὶ πίνειν καὶ μεθύσκεσθαι,
Luke 12:46
The master of that servant will come on a day he does not anticipate and at an hour he does not expect. Then He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers.
ἥξει ὁ κύριος τοῦ δούλου ἐκείνου ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ᾗ οὐ προσδοκᾷ καὶ ἐν ὥρᾳ ᾗ οὐ γεινώσκει καὶ διχοτομήσει αὐτὸν καὶ τὸ μέρος αὐτοῦ μετὰ τῶν ἀπίστων θήσει.
Luke 12:47
That servant who knows his master’s will [but] does not get ready [or] follow his instructions will be beaten with many [blows] .
Ἐκεῖνος δὲ ὁ δοῦλος ὁ γνοὺς τὸ θέλημα τοῦ κύριου αὐτοῦ καὶ μὴ ἑτοιμάσας ἢ ποιήσας πρὸς τὸ θέλημα αὐτοῦ δαρήσεται πολλάς.
Luke 13:8
‘Sir,’ [the man] replied, ‘leave it alone again this year, until I dig around it and fertilize [it] .
Ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς λέγει αὐτῷ· κύριε, ἄφες αὐτὴν καὶ τοῦτο τὸ ἔτος, ἕως ὅτου σκάψω περὶ αὐτὴν καὶ βάλω κόπρια·
Luke 13:15
“You hypocrites!” the Lord replied, “ {Does} not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or donkey from the stall and lead it to water?
Ἀπεκρίθη δὲ αὐτῷ ὁ κύριος καὶ εἶπεν· ὑποκριταί, ἕκαστος ὑμῶν τῷ σαββάτῳ οὐ λύει τὸν βοῦν αὐτοῦ ἢ τὸν ὄνον ἀπὸ τῆς φάτνης, καὶ ἀπαγαγὼν ποτίζει;
Luke 13:23
“Lord,” someone asked Him, “ [will] only a few [people] be saved?” [Jesus] answered,
Εἶπεν δέ τις αὐτῷ· κύριε, εἰ ὀλίγοι οἱ σωζόμενοι; ὁ δὲ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς·
Luke 13:25
After the master of the house gets up and shuts the door, you will stand outside knocking [and] saying, ‘Lord, open the door for us.’ But he will reply, ‘I do not know where you are {from} .’
ἀφ᾽ οὗ ἂν ἐγερθῇ ὁ οἰκοδεσπότης καὶ ἀποκλείσῃ τὴν θύραν καὶ ἄρξησθε ἔξω ἑστάναι καὶ κρούειν τὴν θύραν λέγοντες· κύριε, ἄνοιξον ἡμῖν· καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ἐρεῖ ὑμῖν· οὐκ οἶδα ὑμᾶς πόθεν ἐστέ·
Luke 13:35
Look, your house is left to you desolate. And I tell you [that] you will not see Me {again} until you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in [the] name of [the] Lord.’”
ἰδοὺ ἀφίεται ὑμῖν ὁ οἶκος ὑμῶν. λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν· οὐ μὴ ἴδητέ με ἕως εἴπητε· εὐλογημένος ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἐν ὀνόματι κύριου.
Luke 14:21
The servant returned [and] reported all this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry [and] said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the city, and bring in the poor, [the] crippled, [the] blind, and [the] lame.’
καὶ παραγενόμενος ὁ δοῦλος ἀπήγγειλεν τῷ κύριῳ αὐτοῦ ταῦτα.
Τότε ὀργισθεὶς ὁ οἰκοδεσπότης εἶπεν τῷ δούλῳ αὐτοῦ· ἔξελθε ταχέως εἰς τὰς πλατείας καὶ ῥύμας τῆς πόλεως, καὶ τοὺς πτωχοὺς καὶ ἀναπείρους καὶ τυφλοὺς καὶ χωλοὺς εἰσάγαγε ὧδε.
Luke 14:22
‘Sir,’ the servant replied, ‘what you ordered has been done, and there is still room.’
καὶ εἶπεν ὁ δοῦλος· κύριε, γέγονεν ὃ ἐπέταξας, καὶ ἔτι τόπος ἐστίν.
Luke 14:23
[So] the master told [his] servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedges and compel [them] to come in, so that my house will be full.
καὶ εἶπεν ὁ κύριος πρὸς τὸν δοῦλον· ἔξελθε εἰς τὰς ὁδοὺς καὶ φραγμοὺς καὶ ἀνάγκασον εἰσελθεῖν ἵνα γεμισθῇ μου ὁ οἶκος.
Luke 16:3
The manager said to himself, ‘What shall I do, now that my master is taking away my [position] ? I am too weak to dig [and] too ashamed to beg.
εἶπεν δὲ ἐν ἑαυτῷ ὁ οἰκονόμος· τί ποιήσω, ὅτι ὁ κύριός μου ἀφαιρεῖται τὴν οἰκονομίαν ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ; σκάπτειν οὐκ ἰσχύω, ἐπαιτεῖν αἰσχύνομαι.
Luke 16:5
And he called in each one of his master’s debtors. ‘How much do you owe my master?’ he asked the first.
καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος ἕνα ἕκαστον τῶν χρεοφειλετῶν τοῦ κύριου ἑαυτοῦ ἔλεγεν τῷ πρώτῳ· πόσον ὀφείλεις τῷ κύριῳ μου;
Luke 16:8
The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the sons of this age are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than [are] the sons of light.
καὶ ἐπῄνεσεν ὁ κύριος τὸν οἰκονόμον τῆς ἀδικίας ὅτι φρονίμως ἐποίησεν, ὅτι οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου φρονιμώτεροι ὑπὲρ τοὺς υἱοὺς τοῦ φωτὸς εἰς τὴν γενεὰν τὴν ἑαυτῶν εἰσιν.
Luke 16:13
No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to [the] one and despise the other. You cannot serve [both] God and money.”
Οὐδεὶς οἰκέτης δύναται δυσὶ κύριοις δουλεύειν· ἢ γὰρ τὸν ἕνα μεισήσει καὶ τὸν ἕτερον ἀγαπήσει, ἢ ἑνὸς ἀνθέξεται καὶ τοῦ ἑτέρου καταφρονήσει. οὐ δύνασθε θεῷ δουλεύειν καὶ μαμωνᾷ.
Luke 17:5
The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”
Καὶ εἶπαν οἱ ἀπόστολοι τῷ κύριῳ· πρόσθες ἡμῖν πίστιν.
Luke 17:6
And the Lord answered, “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.
εἶπεν δὲ ὁ κύριος· εἰ ἔχετε πίστιν ὡς κόκκον σινάπεως, ἐλέγετε ἂν τῇ συκαμίνῳ· ἐκριζώθητι καὶ φυτεύθητι ἐν τῇ θαλάσσῃ, καὶ ὑπήκουσεν ἂν ὑμῖν.
Luke 17:37
“Where, Lord?” they asked. [Jesus] answered, “Wherever [there is] a carcass, there the vultures will gather.”
Καὶ ἀποκριθέντες λέγουσιν αὐτῷ· ποῦ, κύριε; ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· ὅπου τὸ σῶμα, ἐκεῖ καὶ οἱ ἀετοὶ ἐπισυναχθήσονται.
Luke 18:6
And the Lord said, “Listen to [the] words of the unjust judge.
Εἶπεν δὲ ὁ κύριος· ἀκούσατε τί ὁ κριτὴς τῆς ἀδικίας λέγει·
Luke 18:41
“What do you want Me to do for you?” “Lord,” he said, “let me see again.”
τί σοι θέλεις ποιήσω; ὁ δὲ εἶπεν· κύριε, ἵνα ἀναβλέψω.
Luke 19:8
But Zacchaeus stood up [and] said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, half of my possessions I give to the poor, and if I have cheated anyone, I will repay [it] fourfold.”
Σταθεὶς δὲ Ζακχαῖος εἶπεν πρὸς τὸν κύριον· ἰδοὺ τὰ ἡμίσιά μου τῶν ὑπαρχόντων, κύριε, τοῖς πτωχοῖς δίδωμι· καὶ εἴ τινός τι ἐσυκοφάντησα, ἀποδίδωμι τετραπλοῦν.
Luke 19:16
The first [servant] came forward [and] said, ‘master, your mina has produced ten {more} minas.’
Παρεγένετο δὲ ὁ πρῶτος λέγων· κύριε, ἡ μνᾶ σου δέκα προσηργάσατο μνᾶς.
Luke 19:18
The second [servant] came [and] said, ‘master, your mina has made five minas.’
Καὶ ἦλθεν ὁ δεύτερος λέγων· ἡ μνᾶ σου, κύριε, ἐποίησεν πέντε μνᾶς.
Luke 19:20
Then another [servant] came [and] said, ‘master, here is your mina, which I have laid away in a piece of cloth.
Καὶ ὁ ἕτερος ἦλθεν λέγων· κύριε, ἰδοὺ ἡ μνᾶ σου ἣν εἶχον ἀποκειμένην ἐν σουδαρίῳ·
Luke 19:25
‘master,’ they said, ‘he [already] has ten!’
καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ· κύριε, ἔχει δέκα μνᾶς.
Luke 19:31
If anyone asks, ‘Why you are untying [it] ?’ tell [him] , ‘The Lord needs it.’”
καὶ ἐάν τις ὑμᾶς ἐρωτᾷ· διὰ τί λύετε; οὕτως ἐρεῖτε· ὅτι ὁ κύριος αὐτοῦ χρείαν ἔχει.
Luke 19:33
As they were untying the colt, its owners asked, “Why are you untying the colt?”
λυόντων δὲ αὐτῶν τὸν πῶλον εἶπαν οἱ κύριοι αὐτοῦ πρὸς αὐτούς· τί λύετε τὸν πῶλον;
Luke 19:34
“The Lord needs it,” they answered.
οἱ δὲ εἶπαν · ὅτι ὁ κύριος αὐτοῦ χρείαν ἔχει.
Luke 19:38
“Blessed is the King who comes in [the] name of [the] Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in [the] highest!”
λέγοντες· εὐλογημένος ὁ ἐρχόμενος βασιλεὺς ἐν ὀνόματι κύριου· ἐν οὐρανῷ εἰρήνη, καὶ δόξα ἐν ὑψίστοις.
Luke 20:13
‘What shall I do?’ asked the owner of the vineyard. ‘I will send my beloved son. Perhaps they will respect him.’
Εἶπεν δὲ ὁ κύριος τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος· τί ποιήσω; πέμψω τὸν υἱόν μου τὸν ἀγαπητόν· ἴσως τοῦτον ἐντραπήσονται.
Luke 20:15
So they threw him out of the vineyard [and] killed [him] . What then {will} the owner of the vineyard do to them?
καὶ ἐκβαλόντες αὐτὸν ἔξω τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος ἀπέκτειναν. τί οὖν ποιήσει αὐτοῖς ὁ κύριος τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος;
Luke 20:37
Even Moses demonstrates that the dead are raised, [ in the passage ] about the [ burning ] bush. For he calls [the] Lord ‘the God of Abraham, [the] God of Isaac, and [the] God of Jacob.’
ὅτι δὲ ἐγείρονται οἱ νεκροί, καὶ Μωϋσῆς ἐμήνυσεν ἐπὶ τῆς βάτου ὡς λέγει κύριον τὸν θεὸν Ἁβραὰμ καὶ θεὸν Ἰσαὰκ καὶ θεὸν Ἰακώβ.
Luke 20:42
For David himself says in [the] book of Psalms: ‘ [The] Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand
αὐτὸς γὰρ Δαυεὶδ λέγει ἐν βίβλῳ ψαλμῶν· εἶπεν ὁ κύριος τῷ κύριῳ μου· κάθου ἐκ δεξιῶν μου
Luke 20:44
So if David calls Him Lord, how can He be [David’s] son?”
Δαυεὶδ οὖν κύριον αὐτὸν καλεῖ, καὶ πῶς υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἐστιν;
Luke 22:31
Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat.
Εἶπεν δὲ ὁ κύριος· Σίμων Σίμων, ἰδοὺ ὁ σατανᾶς ἐξῃτήσατο ὑμᾶς τοῦ σεινιάσαι ὡς τὸν σῖτον.
Luke 22:33
“Lord,” said [Peter] , “I am ready to go with You even to prison and to death.”
ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῷ· κύριε, μετὰ σοῦ ἕτοιμός εἰμι καὶ εἰς φυλακὴν καὶ εἰς θάνατον πορεύεσθαι.
Luke 22:38
So they said, “Look, Lord, here [are] two swords.” “That is enough,” He answered.
οἱ δὲ εἶπαν· κύριε, ἰδοὺ μάχαιραι ὧδε δύο. ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· ἱκανόν ἐστιν.
Luke 22:49
Those around [Jesus] saw what was about to happen [and] said, “Lord, should we strike with [our] swords?”
ἰδόντες δὲ οἱ περὶ αὐτὸν τὸ ἐσόμενον εἶπαν· κύριε, εἰ πατάξομεν ἐν μαχαίρῃ;
Luke 22:61
And the Lord turned [and] looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: “Before [the] rooster crows today, you will deny Me three times.”
καὶ στραφεὶς ὁ κύριος ἐνέβλεψεν τῷ Πέτρῳ, καὶ ὑπεμνήσθη ὁ Πέτρος τοῦ ῥήματος τοῦ κύριου ὡς εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὅτι πρὶν ἀλέκτορα φωνῆσαι σήμερον ἀπαρνήσῃ με τρίς.
Luke 24:3
but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
