Basically, the colours must match between English and Greek

1Cor 6:14
By His power God raised the Lord {from the dead} , and He will raise us [also] .

1Cor 6:17
But he who unites himself with the Lord is one [with Him] [in] spirit.

1Cor 7:10
To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord) : A wife must not separate from [her] husband.

1Cor 7:12
To the rest I say this ([I,] not the Lord) : If a brother has an unbelieving wife and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her.

1Cor 7:17
Regardless, each one should lead [ the life ] [that] the Lord has assigned [to him] [and to which] God has called [him] . This [is what] I prescribe in all the churches.

1Cor 7:22
For he who [was] a slave when he was called by [the] Lord is [the] Lord’s freedman. Conversely, he who [was] a free man when he was called is Christ’s slave.

1Cor 7:25
Now about virgins, I have no command from [the] Lord, but I give a judgment as [one who] by [the] Lord’s mercy is trustworthy.

1Cor 7:32
I want you to be free from concern. The unmarried man is concerned about the [work] of the Lord, how he can please the Lord.

1Cor 7:34
and [his interests] are divided. The unmarried woman [or] virgin is concerned about the [work] of the Lord, how she can be holy in both body and spirit. But the married woman is concerned about the [affairs] of this world, how she can please [her] husband.

1Cor 7:35
I am saying this for your own good, not to restrict you, but in order to promote proper decorum and undivided devotion to the Lord.

1Cor 7:39
A wife is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if [her] husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, as long as [he] belongs to [the] Lord.

1Cor 8:5
For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many [ so-called ] gods and lords ),

1Cor 8:6
yet for us [ there is but ] one God, the Father, from whom all things [came] and for [whom] we [exist] . And [ there is but ] one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things [came] and through [whom] we [exist] .

1Cor 9:1
Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are you [yourselves] not my workmanship in [the] Lord?
Οὐκ εἰμὶ ἐλεύθερος; οὐκ εἰμὶ ἀπόστολος; οὐχὶ Ἰησοῦν τὸν κύριον ἡμῶν ἑώρακα; οὐ τὸ ἔργον μου ὑμεῖς ἐστε ἐν κύριῳ;

1Cor 9:2
Even if I am not an apostle to others, surely I am to you. For you are the seal of my apostleship in [the] Lord.

1Cor 9:5
Have we no right to take along a believing wife, as [do] the other apostles and the Lord’s brothers and Cephas?
μὴ οὐκ ἔχομεν ἐξουσίαν ἀδελφὴν γυναῖκα περιάγειν ὡς καὶ οἱ λοιποὶ ἀπόστολοι καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ τοῦ κύριου καὶ Κηφᾶς;

1Cor 9:14
In the same way, the Lord has prescribed that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel.

1Cor 10:9
We should not test Christ, as some of them [did] , and were killed by snakes.

1Cor 10:21
You cannot drink [the] cup of [the] Lord and [the] cup of demons [too] ; you cannot partake in [the] table of [the] Lord and [the] table of demons {too} .

1Cor 10:22
Are we trying to provoke the Lord {to jealousy} ? Are we stronger than He?
ἢ παραζηλοῦμεν τὸν κύριον; μὴ ἰσχυρότεροι αὐτοῦ ἐσμεν;

1Cor 10:26
for, “The earth [is] the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.”

1Cor 11:11
In [the] Lord, however, woman [is] not independent [of] man, nor [is] man independent of woman.

1Cor 11:23
For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: that the Lord Jesus, on the night He was betrayed, took bread,

1Cor 11:26
For as often as you eat this bread and drink [this] cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.

1Cor 11:27
Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.

1Cor 11:32
But when we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world.

1Cor 12:3
Therefore I inform you that no one who is speaking by [the] Spirit of God says, “Jesus [be] cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus [is] Lord,” except by [the] Holy Spirit.

1Cor 12:5
There are different ministries, but the same Lord.

1Cor 14:21
It is written in the Law: “By strange tongues and foreign lips I will speak to this people, [but] even then they will {not} listen to Me, says [the] Lord.”

1Cor 14:37
If anyone considers [himself] a prophet or spiritual person, let him acknowledge that what I am writing you is [the] Lord’s command.

1Cor 15:31
I face death every day, brothers, as surely as I boast about you in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1Cor 15:57
But thanks [be] to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

1Cor 15:58
Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast [and] immovable. Always excel in the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in [the] Lord is not in vain.

1Cor 16:7
For I do not want to see you now [only] in passing; I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits.

1Cor 16:10
If Timothy comes, see to it that he has nothing to fear [while he is] with you, for he is doing the Lord’s work, just as I am.

1Cor 16:19
The churches in [the province of] Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Prisca greet you warmly in [the] Lord, and so does the church [that meets] at their house.

1Cor 16:22
If anyone {does} not love the Lord, let him be under a divine curse. Come, O Lord!

1Cor 16:23
The grace of the Lord Jesus [be] with you.

2Cor 1:2
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and [the] Lord Jesus Christ.

2Cor 1:3
Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and [the] God of all comfort,

2Cor 1:14
as you have already understood us in part, so that you may boast of us just as we [ will boast ] of you in the day of our Lord Jesus.

2Cor 2:12
Now when I went to Troas [to preach] the gospel of Christ and a door stood open for me in [the] Lord,

2Cor 3:16
But whenever [anyone] turns to [the] Lord, the veil is taken away.

2Cor 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of [the] Lord [is] , [there is] freedom.

2Cor 3:18
And we, [who] with unveiled faces all reflect the glory of [the] Lord, are being transformed into [His] image with intensifying glory, which comes from [the] Lord, [who is the] Spirit.

2Cor 4:5
For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Jesus Christ [as] Lord, and ourselves [as] your servants for Jesus’ sake.

2Cor 4:14
knowing that the [One who] raised the Lord Jesus will also raise us with Jesus and present [us] with you [ in His presence ] .

2Cor 5:6
Therefore we are always confident, although we know that while we are at home in the body, we are away from the Lord.

2Cor 5:8
We are confident, then, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

2Cor 5:11
Therefore, since we know [what it means] to fear the Lord, we try to persuade men. What we are is clear to God, and I hope it is clear to your conscience as well.

2Cor 6:17
“Therefore come out from among them and be separate, says [the] Lord. Touch no unclean {thing} , and I will receive you.”

2Cor 6:18
And: “I will be a Father to you, and you will be My sons and daughters, says [the] Lord Almighty.”

2Cor 8:5
And not [only] [did they do] as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us, because it was [the] will of God.

2Cor 8:9
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that [though] He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that you through [His] poverty might become rich.

2Cor 8:19
More than that, [this brother] was chosen by the churches to accompany us with [the offering] — the gracious gift we administer to honor the Lord Himself and [to show] our eagerness [to help] .

2Cor 8:21
For we are taking great care to do what is right, not only in the eyes of [the] Lord, but also in the eyes of men.

2Cor 10:8
For even if I boast somewhat excessively about the authority the Lord gave us for building [you] up rather than tearing you down, I will not be ashamed.

2Cor 10:17
Rather, “ {Let} him who boasts boast in [the] Lord.”

2Cor 10:18
For it is not the [one] who commends himself [who is] approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.

2Cor 11:17
In this confident boasting [of mine] , I am not speaking as [the] Lord {would} , but as a fool.

2Cor 11:31
The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, who is forever worthy of praise, knows that I am not lying.

2Cor 12:1
I must go on boasting. Although there is nothing to gain, I will go on to visions and revelations from [the] Lord.

2Cor 12:8
Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.

2Cor 13:10
This is why I write these things while absent, so that when I am present I will not need to be severe in my use of the authority that the Lord gave me for building [you] up, not for tearing [you] down.

2Cor 13:13
All the saints send you greetings.

2Cor 13:14
[May] the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit [be] with all of you.

Gal 1:3
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,

Gal 1:19
But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother.

Gal 4:1
[What] I am saying [is that] as long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a slave, [although] he is the owner of everything.

Gal 5:10
I am confident in [the] Lord that you will take no other view. The [one who is] troubling you will bear the judgment, whoever he may be.

Gal 6:14
But as for me, may {I} never boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which [the] world has been crucified to me, and I [to the] world.

Gal 6:18
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with your spirit, brothers. Amen.

Eph 1:2
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and [the] Lord Jesus Christ.

Eph 1:3
Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms.

Eph 1:15
For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and [your] love for all the saints,

Eph 1:17
[ and asking ] that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you [a] spirit of wisdom and revelation in [your] knowledge of Him.

Eph 2:21
In Him the whole building is fitted together [and] grows into a holy temple in [the] Lord.

Eph 3:11
according to [the] eternal purpose that He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Eph 4:1
[As a] prisoner in [the] Lord, then, I urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling you have received:

Eph 4:5
one Lord, one faith, one baptism;

Eph 4:17
So I tell [you] this, and testify [to it] in [the] Lord: You {must} no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in [the] futility of their thinking.

Eph 5:8
For you were once darkness, but now [you are] light in [the] Lord. Walk as children of light,

Eph 5:10
Test and prove what pleases the Lord.

Eph 5:17
Therefore {do} not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will [is] .

Eph 5:19
Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord,

Eph 5:20
always giving thanks to God [the] Father for everything in [the] name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Eph 5:22
Wives, [submit] to your husbands as to the Lord.

Eph 6:1
Children, obey your parents in [the] Lord, for this is right.

Eph 6:4
Fathers, {do} not provoke your children {to anger} ; instead, bring them up in [the] discipline and instruction of [the] Lord.

Eph 6:5
Slaves, obey [your] earthly masters with respect and fear [and] sincerity of heart, just as [ you would show ] to Christ.

Eph 6:7
Serve with good will, as to the Lord and not to men,

Eph 6:8
because you know that [the] Lord will reward each one for whatever good he does, whether [he is] slave or free.

Eph 6:9
And masters, do the same for [your slaves] . Give up [your] use of threats, because you know that [He who is] both their master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with Him.

Eph 6:10
Finally, be strong in [the] Lord and in His mighty power.

Eph 6:21
Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful servant in [the] Lord, will tell you everything, so that you also may know about me [and] what I am doing.

Eph 6:23
Peace to the brothers and love with faith from God [the] Father and [the] Lord Jesus Christ.

Eph 6:24
Grace [be] with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying [love] .

Phil 1:2
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and [the] Lord Jesus Christ.

Phil 1:14
And most of the brothers, confident in [the] Lord by my chains, [now] dare more greatly to speak the word without fear.

Phil 2:11
and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to [the] glory of God [the] Father.

Phil 2:19
Now I hope in [the] Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered when I learn how you {are doing} .

Phil 2:24
And I trust in [the] Lord that I myself will come soon.

Phil 2:29
Welcome him in [the] Lord with great joy, and honor men [like him] ,

Phil 3:1
Finally, my brothers, rejoice in [the] Lord. [It is] no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and [it is] a safeguard for you.

Phil 3:8
More than that, I count all things as loss compared to the surpassing excellence of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have lost all things. I consider [them] rubbish, that I may gain Christ

Phil 3:20
But our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly await a Savior from [there] , [the] Lord Jesus Christ,

Phil 4:1
Therefore, my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, that is how you must stand firm in [the] Lord, my beloved.

Phil 4:2
I urge Euodia and Syntyche to agree in [the] Lord.

Phil 4:4
Rejoice in [the] Lord always. I will say [it] again: Rejoice!

Phil 4:5
{Let} your gentleness be apparent to all. The Lord [is] near.

Phil 4:10
Now I rejoice greatly in [the] Lord that at last you have revived [your] concern for me. You were indeed concerned, but you had no opportunity [to show it] .

Phil 4:23
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ [be] with your spirit.

Col 1:3
We always thank God, [the] Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you,

Col 1:10
so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord [and] may please [Him] in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,

Col 2:6
Therefore, just as you have received Christ Jesus [as] Lord, continue to walk in Him,

Col 3:13
Bear with each other and forgive [any] complaint you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Col 3:17
And whatever you do, in word or deed, [do it] all in [the] name of [the] Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God [the] Father through Him.

Col 3:18
Wives, submit to [your] husbands, as is fitting in [the] Lord.

Col 3:20
Children, obey [your] parents in everything, for this is pleasing to [the] Lord.

Col 3:22
Slaves, obey [your] earthly masters in everything, not [only] to please them while they are watching, but with sincerity of heart [and] fear of the Lord.

Col 3:23
Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, for the Lord and not for men,

Col 3:24
because you know that you will receive an inheritance from [the] Lord [as your] reward. [It is] the Lord Christ you are serving.

Col 4:1
Masters, supply [your] slaves with what [is] right and fair, since you know that you also have a master in heaven.

Col 4:7
Tychicus will tell you all the news about me. [He is] a beloved brother, a faithful minister, and a fellow servant in [the] Lord.

Col 4:17
Tell Archippus: “See to it that you complete the ministry you have received in [the] Lord.”

1Thess 1:1
Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God [the] Father and [the] Lord Jesus Christ: Grace and peace to you.

1Thess 1:3
[and] continually recalling before our God and Father your work of faith, [your] labor of love, and [your] enduring hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

1Thess 1:6
And you became imitators of us and of the Lord when you welcomed the message with [the] joy of [the] Holy Spirit, in [spite of your] great suffering.

1Thess 1:8
For not only {did} the message of the Lord ring out from you to Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone out to every place, so that we have no need to say anything [more] .

1Thess 2:15
who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and drove us out {as well} . They are displeasing to God and hostile to all men,

1Thess 2:19
After all, who [is] our hope, [our] joy, [our] crown of boasting, if it is not you yourselves in the presence of our Lord Jesus at His coming?
τίς γὰρ ἡμῶν ἐλπὶς ἢ χαρὰ ἢ στέφανος καυχήσεως; ἢ οὐχὶ καὶ ὑμεῖς ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ κύριου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ ἐν τῇ αὐτοῦ παρουσίᾳ;

1Thess 3:8
For now we can go on living, as long as you are standing firm in [the] Lord.

1Thess 3:11
Now {may} our God and Father Himself, and our Lord Jesus, direct our way to you.

1Thess 3:12
And {may} the Lord cause you to increase and overflow with love for one another and for everyone [else] , just as our [love] for you [overflows] ,

1Thess 3:13
so that He may establish your hearts in blamelessness [and] holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints. Amen.

1Thess 4:1
Finally, brothers, we ask and encourage you in [the] Lord Jesus to live in a way that is pleasing to God, as you have received from us. This is how you already live, so you should do so all the more.

1Thess 4:2
For you know [the] instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

1Thess 4:6
[and] no one should {ever} violate [or] exploit his brother in [this] regard, because [the] Lord will avenge all such [acts] , as we have already told you and solemnly warned [you] .

1Thess 4:15
By [the] word of [the] Lord, we declare to you that we who are alive [and] remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who have fallen asleep.

1Thess 4:16
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of an archangel, and with [the] trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will be the first to rise.

1Thess 4:17
After that, we who are alive [and] remain will be caught up together with them in [the] clouds to meet the Lord in [the] air. And so we will always {be} with [the] Lord.

1Thess 5:2
For you {are} fully aware that [the] day of [the] Lord will come like a thief in [the] night.

1Thess 5:9
For God has not appointed us to [suffer] wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1Thess 5:12
But we ask you, brothers, to acknowledge those who work diligently among you, [who] preside over you in [the] Lord and give you instruction.

1Thess 5:23
Now {may} the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely, and {may} your entire spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1Thess 5:27
I charge you [before] the Lord [to have this] letter read to all the brothers.

1Thess 5:28
[May] the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you.

2Thess 1:1
Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, To the church of [the] Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:

2Thess 1:2
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

2Thess 1:7
and to grant relief to you who are oppressed and to us [as well] , [when] the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels

2Thess 1:8
in blazing fire. He will inflict vengeance on those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.

2Thess 1:9
[They] will suffer [the] penalty of eternal destruction, separated from [the] presence of the Lord and the glory of His might,

2Thess 1:12
so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and of [the] Lord Jesus Christ.

2Thess 2:1
Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to Him, we ask you, brothers,

2Thess 2:2
not to be easily disconcerted [or] alarmed by [any] spirit [or] message [or] letter presuming [to be] from us, [alleging] that the day of the Lord has already come.

2Thess 2:8
And then the lawless [one] will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will slay with the breath of His mouth and annihilate by the majesty of His arrival.

2Thess 2:13
But we should always thank God for you, brothers who are loved by [the] Lord, because God has chosen you from [the] beginning to be saved by [the] sanctification of [the] Spirit and [by] faith in [the] truth.

2Thess 2:14
To this He called you through our gospel, so that you may share in [the] glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2Thess 2:16
Now {may} our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God our Father, who by grace has loved us and given [us] eternal comfort and good hope,

2Thess 3:1
Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may spread quickly and be held in honor, just as [it was] with you.

2Thess 3:3
But the Lord is faithful, [and He] will strengthen [you] and guard you from the evil [one] .

2Thess 3:4
And we have confidence in [the] Lord that you are doing and will continue to do what we command.

2Thess 3:5
{May} the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.

2Thess 3:6
Now we command you, brothers, in [the] name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to keep away from any brother [who] leads an undisciplined life [that is] not in keeping with the tradition you received from us.

2Thess 3:12
We command and urge such [people] by our Lord Jesus Christ to begin working quietly to earn their own living.

2Thess 3:16
Now {may} the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all [times] [and] in every way. The Lord [be] with all of you.

2Thess 3:18
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with all of you.

1Tim 1:2
To Timothy, [my] true child in [the] faith: Grace, mercy, [and] peace from God [the] Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

1Tim 1:12
I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, that He considered me faithful [and] appointed [me] to service.

1Tim 1:14
And the grace of our Lord overflowed [to me] , along with [the] faith and love that [are] in Christ Jesus.

1Tim 6:3
If anyone teaches another doctrine and disagrees [with the] sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and with godly teaching,

1Tim 6:14
Keep [this] commandment without stain [or] reproach until the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ,

1Tim 6:15
which [God] will bring about in [His] own time— [He who is] blessed and [the] only Sovereign [One] , the King of kings and Lord of lords.

2Tim 1:2
To Timothy, [my] beloved child: Grace, mercy, [and] peace from God [the] Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

2Tim 1:8
So do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, [or] of me, His prisoner. Instead, join me in suffering for the gospel by [the] power of God.

2Tim 1:16
{May} the Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, because he has often refreshed me and was unashamed of my chains.

2Tim 1:18
{May} the Lord grant [Onesiphorus] [His] mercy on that day. You know very well how much he ministered [to me] in Ephesus.

2Tim 2:7
Consider what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all things.

2Tim 2:14
Remind [ the believers ] of these things, charging [them] before God to avoid quarreling over words, [which is] in no way profitable [and leads] [its] listeners to ruin.

2Tim 2:19
Nevertheless, God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “ [The] Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord must turn away from iniquity.”

2Tim 2:22
Flee from youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, [and] peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

2Tim 2:24
And a servant of [the] Lord must not be quarrelsome, but he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, [and] forbearing.

2Tim 3:11
[my] persecutions, [and the] sufferings that came upon me in Antioch, Iconium, [and] Lystra. What persecutions I endured! Yet the Lord rescued me from all [of them] .

2Tim 4:8
From now on the crown of righteousness is laid up for me, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day— and not only to me, but to all who crave His appearing.

2Tim 4:14
Alexander the coppersmith did great harm to me. The Lord will repay him according to his deeds.

2Tim 4:17
But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message would be fully proclaimed, and all the Gentiles would hear [it] . [So] I was delivered from [the] mouth of the lion.

2Tim 4:18
[And] the Lord will rescue me from every evil action and bring [me] safely into His heavenly kingdom. To Him [be] the glory forever [and] ever. Amen.

2Tim 4:22
The Lord [be] with your spirit. Grace [be] with you all.

Phlm 1:3
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and [the] Lord Jesus Christ.

Phlm 1:5
because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints.

Phlm 1:16
no longer as a slave, but better than a slave, [as] a beloved brother. [He is] especially [ beloved ] to me, but even more so to you, both in person and in [the] Lord.
οὐκέτι ὡς δοῦλον ἀλλ᾽ ὑπὲρ δοῦλον, ἀδελφὸν ἀγαπητόν, μάλιστα ἐμοί, πόσῳ δὲ μᾶλλόν σοι καὶ ἐν σαρκὶ καὶ ἐν κύριῳ;

Phlm 1:20
Yes, brother, let me have some benefit from you in [the] Lord. Refresh my heart in Christ.

Phlm 1:25
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ [be] with your spirit.

Basically, the colours must match between English and Greek

Heb 1:10
And: “In [the] beginning, O Lord, You laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are [the] work of Your hands.

Heb 2:3
how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? [ This salvation ] was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard [Him] ,

Heb 7:14
For [it is] clear that our Lord descended from Judah, a tribe as to which Moses said nothing about priests.

Heb 7:21
but [Jesus became a priest] with an oath by the [One who] said to Him: “ [The] Lord has sworn and will not change His mind: ‘You [are] a priest forever.’”

Heb 8:2
[and who] ministers in the sanctuary and true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by man.

Heb 8:8
[But] [God] found fault with [the people] [and] said: “Behold, [the] days are coming, declares [the] Lord, [when] I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.

Heb 8:9
[It will] not be like the covenant I made with their fathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of [the] land of Egypt, because they did not abide by My covenant, and I disregarded them, declares [the] Lord.

Heb 8:10
For this [is] the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares [the] Lord. I will put My laws in their minds, and inscribe them on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they will be My people.

Heb 8:11
No longer will each one teach his neighbor [or] his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know Me, from [the] least of them to [the] greatest.

Heb 10:16
“This [is] the covenant I will make with them after those days, declares [the] Lord. I will put My Laws in their hearts and inscribe them on their minds.”

Heb 10:30
For we know Him who said, “Vengeance [is] Mine; I will repay,” and again, “ [The] Lord will judge His people.”

Heb 12:5
And you have forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons: “My son, {do} not make light of [the] Lord’s discipline, [or] lose heart [when] He rebukes you.

Heb 12:6
For [the] Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastises everyone He receives [as a] son.”

Heb 13:6
So we say with confidence: “ [The] Lord [is] my helper; I will not be afraid. What {can} man do to me?”
ὥστε θαρροῦντας ἡμᾶς λέγειν· κύριος ἐμοὶ βοηθός, καὶ οὐ φοβηθήσομαι· τί ποιήσει μοι ἄνθρωπος;

Heb 13:20
Now {may} the God of peace, who through [the] blood of [the] eternal covenant brought back from [the] dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep,

Jas 1:1
James, a servant of God and of [the] Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes in the Dispersion: Greetings.

Jas 1:7
That man {should} not expect to receive anything from the Lord.

Jas 2:1
My brothers, as you hold out [your] faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, {do} not [show] favoritism.

Jas 3:9
With [the tongue] we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God’s likeness.

Jas 4:10
Humble yourselves before [the] Lord, and He will exalt you.

Jas 4:15
Instead, you [ought] to say, “If the Lord is willing, we will live and do this or that.”

Jas 5:4
Look, the wages you withheld from the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of [the] Lord of Hosts.

Jas 5:7
Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer awaits the precious fruit of the soil— how patient he is for [the fall] and [spring rains] .

Jas 5:8
You too, be patient [and] strengthen your hearts, because the Lord’s coming is near.

Jas 5:10
Brothers, [as] an example of patience in affliction, take the prophets who spoke in the name of [the] Lord.

Jas 5:11
See how blessed we consider those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen the outcome from [the] Lord. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

Jas 5:14
{Is} any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.

Jas 5:15
And the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick. The Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.

1Pet 1:3
Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By His great mercy [He] has given us new birth into a living hope through [the] resurrection of Jesus Christ from [the] dead,

1Pet 1:25
but the word of [the] Lord stands forever.” And this is the word that was proclaimed to you.

1Pet 2:3
now that you have tasted that the Lord [is] good.

1Pet 2:13
Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether to [the] king as the supreme [authority] ,

1Pet 3:6
just as Sarah obeyed Abraham [and] called him Lord. [And] you are [her] children if you do what is right and refuse to quiver in fear.

1Pet 3:12
For [the] eyes of [the] Lord [are] on [the] righteous, and His ears are inclined to their prayer. But [the] face of [the] Lord [is] against those who do evil.”

1Pet 3:15
But in your hearts sanctify Christ [as] Lord. Always be prepared to give a defense to everyone who asks you the reason for the hope you possess. But [respond] with gentleness and respect,

2Pet 1:2
Grace and peace be multiplied to you through [the] knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

2Pet 1:8
For [if] you possess these [ qualities ] and continue to grow [in them] , they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in [your] knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2Pet 1:11
and you will receive a lavish reception into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

2Pet 1:14
since I know that [it] will soon be laid aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.

2Pet 1:16
For we did not follow cleverly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty.

2Pet 2:9
[ if all this is so, then the ] Lord knows how to rescue [the] godly from trials and to hold [the] unrighteous for punishment on [the] day of judgment.

2Pet 2:11
Yet not even angels, [though] greater in strength and power, dare to bring such slanderous charges against them before [the] Lord.

2Pet 2:20
If indeed they have escaped the corruption of the world through [their] knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, only to be entangled [and] overcome by it again, their final [condition] is worse than [it was] at first.

2Pet 3:2
by recalling what was foretold by the holy prophets and commanded by [our] Lord and Savior through your apostles.

2Pet 3:8
Beloved, {do} not {let} [this] one thing escape your notice: With [the] Lord a day [is] like a thousand years, and a thousand years [are] like a day.

2Pet 3:9
The Lord is not slow [to fulfill ] [His] promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance.

2Pet 3:10
But [the] day of [the] Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar, [the] elements will be destroyed by fire, and [the] earth and [its] works will be laid bare.

2Pet 3:15
Consider also that our Lord’s patience [brings] salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom [God] gave him.

2Pet 3:18
But grow in [the] grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him [be] the glory both now and to [the] day of eternity. Amen.

Jude 1:4
For certain men have crept in [among you] unnoticed— ungodly [ones] who were designated long ago for condemnation. They turn the grace of our God into a license for immorality, and they deny our only master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Jude 1:9
But [even] the archangel Michael, when he disputed with the devil over the body of Moses, did not presume to bring a slanderous judgment {against him} , but said, “ [The] Lord rebuke you!”

Jude 1:14
Enoch, [the] seventh from Adam, also prophesied about them: “Behold, [the] Lord is coming with myriads of His holy [ones]

Jude 1:17
But you, beloved, remember what was foretold by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ

Jude 1:21
keep yourselves in [the] love of God as you await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring [you] eternal life.

Jude 1:25
to [the] only God our Savior [be] glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all time, and now, and for all eternity. Amen.

Rev 1:8
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says [the] Lord God, who is and was and is to come— the Almighty.

Rev 4:8
And each [of] the four living creatures had six wings [and was] covered with eyes all around and within. Day and night they never stop saying: “Holy, Holy, Holy, [is the] Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!”

Rev 4:11

Rev 7:14

These [witnesses] are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth.

Then the seventh angel sounded [his] trumpet, and loud voices called out in heaven: “The kingdom of the world has become [the kingdom] of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign forever [and] ever.”

Rev 14:13
And I heard a voice from heaven telling [me] to write, “Blessed [are] the dead— those who die in [the] Lord from this moment on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “ - they will rest from their labors, for their deeds will follow them.”

Rev 15:3
and they sang the song of God’s servant Moses and of the Lamb: “Great and wonderful [are] Your works, O Lord God Almighty! Just and true [are] Your ways, O King of the nations!

Who will not fear [You] , O Lord, and glorify Your name? For [You] alone [are] holy. All nations will come and worship before You, for Your righteous acts have been revealed.”

Rev 16:7
And I heard the altar reply: “Yes, Lord God Almighty, true and just [are] Your judgments.”

Rev 18:8
Therefore her plagues will come in one day— death and misery and famine— and she will be consumed by fire, for mighty [is the] Lord God who judges her.”

Rev 19:6
And I heard [a sound] like [the] roar of a great multitude, like [the] rushing of many waters, and like a mighty rumbling of thunder, crying out: “Hallelujah! For our Lord God, the Almighty, reigns.

Rev 19:16
And He has a name written on [His] robe and on His thigh: King of kings and Lord of lords.

Rev 21:22
[But] I saw no temple in [the city] , because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.

Rev 22:5
There will be no more night [in the city] , and they will have no need for [the] light of a lamp [or] of [the] sun. For [the] Lord God will shine on them, and they will reign forever [and] ever.

Rev 22:6
Then [the angel] said to me, “These words [are] faithful and true. The Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent His angel to show His servants what must soon take place.”

Rev 22:20
He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!

DCHindley wrote: Sat Sep 17, 2016 5:27 amIn earlier posts from years ago, I noted a tendency in the Pauline writings to include a form of the definite article ho ("the") with the Greek word kurios ("lord") when referring to Jesus/Jesus Christ/Christ Jesus.

Alternatively, kurios seems to be primarily anarthrous (without a definite article) when kurios is used as a euphemism for God's name YHWH.
For those attempting a stratified analysis of the Pauline letters, there may, just may, be a useful ancillary tool in (a variation of) 'Fitzgerald's canon'. Named after an 1850 commentary note by the Irish scholar-cleric William Fitzgerald, it asserts that in Aristotle's works the historical Socrates is styled Σωκρατης without the definite article (anarthrous), while the Platonic/literary/fictional Socrates is styled ' ο Σωκρατης with the definite article (arthrous).

A detailed examination of the canon was made by W.D. Ross*. A summary :
"The general practice in Greek is that the article is omitted with the names of persons except (a) in referring to a person already named in the context without the article (here 'ο = 'the said'); (b) to a person who is present and is pointed to;
(c) to a particularly famous person..

"Aristotle's practice agrees with this in general. In Met.A there are fifty references to philosophers and poets without the article, and two with it.. (both explicable by (a) above)...In the Rhetoric historical characters are mentioned at least 234 times without the article, and there are (as far as I know) only twenty passages (other than those explicable by Fitzgerald's canon) in which they occur with the article; some of these are explicable by (a) above, and the rest probably by (c). On the other hand, Σωκρατης occurs in Aristotle's genuine works 19 times without the article and 22 times with it. This at once suggests that there is some special reason for the use of the article with this name, and the reason which naturally presents itself is that Socrates is both a historical character and a character in Plato's dialogues.... [discussion of citations]....Thus Fitzgerald's canon accounts for 35 out of the 41 passages....

"The canon is on the whole confirmed very strongly by Aristotle's usage with other proper names.... [discussion of citations]....In the Poetics there are at least 31 cases of the use of the article in accordance with the canon, and only the following exceptions... [Οδυσσευς, Ορεστης, Οιδιπους, Σισυφος]..The dropping out of 'ο before ο and occasionally before σ is clearly exceptio probans regulam."

This is not Koine Greek. It is not a general rule. But it does show the possibility of an author grammatically indicating the difference - and the link - between a 'derived' person and his 'source'. If a stratified analysis of the Pauline letters, done on separate assumptions, throws up differing patterns of use of the definite article, this would enhance its plausibility.

mbuckley3,

Always a pleasure to see your posts. My Greek proficiency has been declining along with my health, so I would have to sit and absorb what you had conveyed.

IIRC, almost all cases of Kurios, when it unambiguously refers to the God of the Judeans, is anarthrous, like it is God's actual name. YHVH is circumlocuted into Kurios. When referring to Jesus Christ, there is a definite article, "the" Lord (Jesus/Christ). It seemed to me, at the time, that this use of a written definite article signified something special. Still, I would think Paul should have referred to his human lord (patron) at least once in a while.

There was also the other side of the coin, where a written definite article is used when referring to "the" God of the Judeans. When God is mentioned in connection with Christ passages it is anarthrous, like the general concept of divinity is being referred to. It is almost the opposite to the Kurios oddity.

Dave, I've listed them all, fancy colour coded. James sits in 3 of 4: viewtopic.php?p=151006#p151006

I think it would benefit from a few additional colours, but it is evident that exceptions abound. Perhaps we should replace the anarthrous Lord with God as well, it is all rather confusing, even now
