I agree: it is best to read the book directly. But I thought it was worth flagging here, now, as I think it adds a little something to the issues about how entities such as 'Josephus the Jew' / Hegesippus / 'Polycarp' were portrayed (and likely bastardized or embellished or both) in those days.Secret Alias wrote:I am not sure what the value of citing a review is.
