Is the Gospel Narrative a Conspiracy Theory?

Discussion about the New Testament, apocrypha, gnostics, church fathers, Christian origins, historical Jesus or otherwise, etc.

My argument is that, given the extreme easiness by which any fantastic thing was placed in outer space by Jews, the onus probandi is on who places the death of Paul's Jesus on earth to give a strong evidence of it, because otherwise the position of default has to be a death in outer space.

That's some tortured logic.

no that is your Paul "spirited" to the Third Heaven.

Someone (a fan of Ben, probably, possibly a his relative) has written this to Carrier.

I will wait the answer.

No Giuseppe. No one likes engaging with you because you are nuts. So let me put it another way. If food, shelter and clothing was a 10 out of 10 in terms of importance for ancient Jews at the turn of the Common Era how important do you think outer space was for them on a scale of 1 to 10? I would put outer space at 1 or not significant.

The problem of course is that mythicism is 10 out of 10 in terms of significance for you. So you can't have a clue of what ordinary people view these ideas you obsess about. I can't imagine that ordinary Jews or Christians cared so much about outer space that they'd have fallen in what a narrative or doctrine set in outer space. But that's just me I guess. Not nutty enough to imagine everyone in history was as nuts as I am.

The quoted passage in Josephus (and the book of Revelation) shows that in conditions of exasperated mystical apocalypticism, SOME Jews could see things in outer space.

Even the Jesus of paper saw Satan fall from heaven.

At any case, my point is that is necessary very strong evidence to exorcize the idea of a celestial death in Paul. All here. It is not a will of discussion. Always interested to hear your views about earthly location of Jesus's death. But you are so reluctant to talk about it... so I will wait your chapter in Loftus's book.

There is no point arguing with you. You could make a piece of toast serve as evidence for your hypothesis.

Who has said that I would like to argue? Since I have already my views, I would be interested to know your views about the location of Jesus's death in Paul, since it's a topic I have never heard you about.

Despite the inconvenient fact that Paul himself says that?

Whatever. You're a moron. No one likes you. Do everyone the favour and begone.

Put some strawberry jam on that motherfucker and we're good to go. I'd accept anything after that.
