talah, κρέμαμαι (to suspend).
How man times does the Hebrew term
talah (to suspend, i.e. ''to crucify') appear in the OT?
Joshua 10:26:
So then Joshua smote them, and slew them, and hanged them on five trees, and they hanged still upon the trees until the evening.
Josh. 8:28
So Joshua burned Ai and made it forever a heap of ruins, as it is to this day. 29 And he hanged the king of Ai on a tree until evening. And at sunset Joshua commanded, and they took his body down from the tree and threw it at the entrance of the gate of the city and raised over it a great heap of stones, which stands there to this day.
Joshua 10:1:
King Adonizedek of Jerusalem heard that Joshua had captured and destroyed the town of Ai, and then killed its king as he had done at Jericho.
In all:
7 kings suspended/crucified by Joshua.
It is not a coincidence that
7 Archons crucify/suspend Jesus.

The crucifixion of Joshua:
Joshua 8:
29 And he hanged the king of Ai on a tree until evening; and at sunset Joshua commanded, and they took his body down from the tree, threw it down at the entrance of the gate of the city, and raised over it a great heap of stones, which stands there to this day.
From this possibly some pesher was created whereby the king of Ai and Joshua were transposed. Part of the mystery is that it was really Joshua who was crucified, not the king. This could explain the Gospel tradition whereby Jesus was substituted for the one who was to be crucified, Barabbas.
the "king of Jews" in place of "king of Ai"?

It's a weak correlation and an inverted one at that. If Joshua was crucified by seven kings or if seven Archons were crucified by Jesus your point would be stronger.

There are other cases of so-called "inversive midrash". For example, the same enemies of Christians invented an
example of inversive midrash.

No, since the number 7 is the most common number throughout the biblical canon and very common in extra canonical texts and even where seven is not explicitly mentioned there are numerous times when similar types of events happen seven times. Check out Labuschagne's
Numerical Secrets of the Bible for some of that information.
It is so common that if we find seven archons then we can expect to "parallels" almost everywhere we look and seven hanged kings quite easily stands without any relationship at all to the seven archons.

I wonder if Jesus, on the cross, remembered the fate of the kings of Ai, of Jericho etc since he said:
For all who take the sword will perish by the sword
(Matthew 26:52)
For all who take
the cross will perish
by the cross.
(irony here).

Surely it is not a coincidence that the only person who crucifies in the OT is named Joshua.
